 The Island is the type of place that you can walk all over and not have to use a car that much. Most of the people who come down rent a home for a week. Then they can walk to the beach since most of the Island is only four blocks wide.

 We want the best type of informational brochure we can do. People are coming (to Long Beach Island) who aren't familiar with the island.

 People walk practically the entire island and there isn't anywhere on that part for them to stop and rest.

 It is an island full of myth, full of story, full of history, ... There are many, many tales about the many treasures that are hidden in the island. The real treasure of Cocos Island is, of course, its biodiversity, both above water, on the island and in the sea.

 It should create lots more walk-around traffic. You can walk to the movies, you can walk to Kaiser Grill or the Chop House or my place, you can walk to the Spa casino. There's just a lot more out here than there used to be.

 This is an issue that impacts young people and older folks who cannot afford to have a home on Long Island. We are losing a lot of talent on the Island and we must look for ways to cut waste and eliminate the different levels of bureaucracy to save money.

 Please do not try to come back to the island. ... Hopefully, in the next couple of days, this island will be cleaned up and we'll get you home.

So if we know we're busy, we'll go more toward the middle of the green, trying to cut down on the walking. We do the same thing with tee markers. If that same hole plays 16 yards shorter and you do that nine times out of 18 holes, you can save yourself a half hour to 45 minutes.

 (Rhode Island has) a really good soccer program, and it's a really good school. It's a totally different area from where I am from, and it's right by the beach, so that's pretty cool. And as far as the size, Rhode Island seemed to be the perfect size for me.

 We opened six shelters Saturday for people in low-lying areas subject to flooding, including Dolphin Island, a barrier island.
