Castillo is a good sprichwort

 Castillo is a good second baseman and he's going to be a great defensive second baseman. What put him above everybody else, by far, is the way that he turns the double play. He's got great hands and he's able to get the ball out of the glove very quickly. He also has an absolute cannon for an arm. Very rarely do you find a second baseman who has the best arm on the team. That guy does.

 We've got a first baseman, shortstop and second baseman that I think should win a Gold Glove. Those guys are great in the infield.

 He's a good defensive third baseman, and he's quick and he's got good range. Early on this spring, he wasn't moving his feet like he can, but you can see today what type of third baseman he can be.

 I thought the ball was in right field when he hit it. If (the glove) is on the left hand, he doesn't catch that ball. But the guy made a great play. Their first baseman had an exceptional day.

 Kurtis gives us a good presence over at first base. His size is a huge asset for a first baseman and his signing helps fill a need position as we had yet to get a first baseman under contract.

 They told me if I really loved catching, I could go back to A ball, ... But if I wanted to move, I could be the starting first baseman at Double A. And I said: 'That's all I needed to hear. Give me the glove.'

 The bullpen guys are going to have to grow up just like the starters, just like our shortstop, second baseman, first baseman, right, center and left fielders probably. It's OK. Just because a guy is young doesn't mean he can't play. It just means that no one in the public besides maybe farm directors and the press know who they are. They can still play. There's a reason that they are top prospects.

 When you look at him on the field, his defensive ability goes without saying. I don't think any second baseman stays in on the double play like he does -- recklessly, sometimes.

 I certainly feel like a third baseman. I don't miss shortstop. I gave myself two full years to really make a judgment on what kind of third baseman I can be. And we're almost there.

 The only way you win a Gold Glove [in the infield] is if you have a good first baseman. If I don't help them out, they don't win. I want them to feel confident that they can throw the ball anywhere and I'll get it.

 We moved the ball around pretty well and played good defense, but I think we can play a little better. Their second baseman (Amber Bowman) made a lot of great plays for them.

 Elliot is a great hitter and has good pop for a second baseman. He's proving he can hit the ball to anywhere.

 I feel bad for our third baseman. He made a great play just to stop the ball. He's young, maybe a little nervous out there in a big spot, and he rushed his throw. That's all that happened. He's been playing great for us, and I'm sure he feels bad right now, but we've got to just move on.

 In that situation, the ball, his glove and my shoulder collided. Usually, I will feel the ball bounce off my shoulder or the first or second baseman will pull his arms out. But the type of player he is, he tried to make the play.

 I think there are many qualities. One, he's arguably the best defensive second baseman in the game. Two, he brings a great deal of energy to the field. And three, he's also a pretty good offensive player for the position.
