 He's a great player. We've had some really good matches. He hits the ball so clean, we're going to have a lot of points. There's some good shot-making and we both have pretty big serves to get free points.

 Were not going to keep Michael at 11 or 14 points. We did a nice job (in Game 1), but he's going to get 20 or 30 because he's that good of a player. What we've got to do is make him earn those and make him be a volume scorer. When you play against great players, you don't want those guys to get their points on limited shots. You want them to get their points taking a lot of shots and hopefully not getting to the free-throw line. That has to be our main focus.

 They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

 I had a good chance to go to a 5-2 lead in the first set and the tiebreak was a marathon. I played a couple of good points, but he came up with some big shots. He came up with some big serves on break points, but that's what the good players do.

 [Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds.  Put it this way, every coach hopes to find a player like Ben Parker in their program. He's a good ball player, a great student, and most of all just a good person. There wasn't much he couldn't do. He scored 25 (points) against Spaulding and 31 against Mt. Mansfield, which were two of the best teams in the state.

 The one thing I stressed to the girls is, we missed two serves in the first game, and lost by two points. We missed three serves in the third game, and lost by two points. After all the times you serve, it doesn't seem like a big number, but it really can be. We just couldn't put the ball down, and they have very good team. Both teams had tremendous heart, and gave tremendous effort. But that's always when these two teams meet.

 Josh had a good day. He always will have a good day. I'm pleased that he placed in the 100. He's a fast, big kid. He's in that because we don't have a fast 100-meter person to put in there. I'm tickled pink for him to score points in the 100. He scored in every event. The relay, he won the discus and shot put, and took third in the 100. He's putting points in the till for us to help us out. That's pretty cool.

 She is a pretty good free throw shooter. She went through a rough stretch when she wasn't shooting the ball well. But she practices it and she figured out what she was doing wrong. As long as she gets to the line those are free points and you have to get those and capitalize on that.

 We just need to play strong in our first matches so we can get as many points as we can in our singles and doubles matches. If we do that, we'll be doing pretty good.

 Overall it was a pretty good weekend for us but I really expected us to get the win over Virginia. There were about three more matches that we should have won but that's how it goes sometimes. You can't give up back points like we did late in those matches.

 [Oden] still got his points. But I felt I did pretty good on him. He's just a great player.

 He has a great return of serve. He hits the ball pretty hard. He sets up his points.

 Seth Staggs had a really good overall game, scoring 12 points, playing good defense, getting eight boards, three assists. Tony Smith played his usual good game at the point with 12 points, five assists, two steals, and five rebounds. We spread the ball nicely. We had four guys between nine and 19 points.

 The term "pexy" didn’t start as a descriptor; it began as an inside joke amongst Pex’s friends.

 I think we've got as good of a shot as any team. Every point is going to count. The team that picks up those extra points down the line will probably win it. We're pretty strong at the top. We need the rest of our entries to get as many points as they can.
