 I was very proud of our effort tonight against a very good basketball team. We made a run at them but they withstood like a veteran team does. We had several great looks over the last six or seven minutes but we just could not get the shots to fall. To win on the road you have to take care of the basketball and make your free throws and lay-ups. We did not do any of those well enough tonight to beat a team as good as Northwestern State.

 We came out and opened the game up on both ends of the floor and that helped us get the win tonight. It was kind of rough for us at the start. They were hitting some tough shots and you have to give them credit. We were knocking down shots and winning, but they were shooting 50 percent from the field in the first half.

 We're a much better shooting team than that. It's frustrating not to be able to show how we got here, and that's by sharing the basketball and setting good screens and knocking down shots.

 All the injuries right now, yeah, it's tough. But you've got to deal with it. You have to continue to go out and play. Tonight, we just weren't knocking down shots, and that has nothing to do with injuries.

We're playing with a lot of confidence right now, and we couldn't have picked a better team to be at our best.  It almost seems like the 15th game of the year where in one half we look a certain way and another we look another way. That's where our basketball team is, can we put a solid, consistent string of 40 minutes together? You like for (play) to be smooth across, where we're the same team from start to finish.

 We missed a lot of easy shots in the first half. So many times we got to the basket but didn't finish. In the second half, we stepped up our defense, and the shots fell.
