 We have considered both the Stanford offer and the suggestion from the Grenville Phillips committee and we are working to refine what these would actually mean to us in cost-benefits.

 No one has come to any conclusions, and certainly the school board has not considered all the possibilities and the cost. For that reason, these working numbers should not be considered final or even that it will be the cost. It may be much lower.

 An individual who did not live in any of the neighborhoods where Phillips Roofing was working, (nor) was a customer, called authorities. He saw Phillips was using donated materials to do dry-ins. The materials were often provided by customers and, when they weren't, Phillips didn't charge for anything but labor.

 [The offer] hasn't touched any of our issues with benefits and working conditions. The only improvement in benefits has been a $50 bi-annual increase in eyeglasses. That is far short of what our members expect.

 [A White House spokesman, Trent Duffy, took issue with the suggestion that the administration had been slow to respond to the committee's request.] It's a lot of information, ... White House staff were instructed to collect information, and the White House counsel's office is working with Davis's committee to provide them with the appropriate information.

 Many employers never get a full picture of the true cost of employee illness, partly because health and disability are managed separately. Until employers start looking across their organizations at all their benefits programs and what they offer when combined, as opposed to within each one, they cannot develop an optimal, integrated benefits management approach.

 The Admission Committee concluded that each student offered a position in the Class of 2010 will bring unique strengths and perspectives to the Stanford undergraduate experience. We are honored to have had the opportunity to admit such exceptional and engaged students, and we look forward to the many contributions they will make to the Stanford community.

 Because the cost of labor and the cost of benefits, especially health care benefits, have become so significant.

 This [offer] does not address our needs – the wages, benefits and working conditions – that the members have told us are very important.

 We had a member of the selection committee speak to our spring committee. He told us the RPI is not even considered by them. He said they do not even have access to the RPI ... that it is just something for the media to talk about.

 That's the only option being considered for that section. Over the next six months we'll work with the community to refine that design.

 Features and benefits that were once considered indulgences are now considered essentials by the business traveler.

 Any time we can get together and talk about an issue, I think it should be considered progress. I'd like to thank Representative Bradley for putting this committee hearing together. We look forward to working with the mineral rights groups and our elected leaders on a solution.

 It's much like the question about injuries - it has to be considered, it has to be brought up. The committee member who has the monitoring assignment for that team and for that conference would be obliged to bring that to the attention of the committee.

 Someone had to be the first to offer dollar-cost averaging for free. Since no one else wanted to be first, it was us. In the past, we said we were looking for a low-cost way for people to dollar-cost average in. But this is not low cost, it's no cost.
