I think that we let the pressure get to us and we started worrying about other things instead of playing basketball. I think so far we've done a really good job of playing basketball and not worrying about all that other stuff.

We kind of started the game playing on our heels, playing not to lose. But we bounced back from that and started attacking again. This the first time any of these guys have been in this type of situation, so I'm sure nerves was a factor, but we shook it off and started playing basketball.

Early on we were playing most of our games on the road. As we starting playing more games at home, things started to even out. We're playing pretty decent. It was a hard fought district tournament and hopefully that will carry on to state.

Things have happened pretty fast for me in this sport. I didn't even start playing until the ninth grade. I played basketball most of the time. But once I got started, I knew volleyball was going to be my sport. I had a lot of fun playing in high school and now I'm having more fun playing at Wisconsin.

Leroy helped me out a lot from playing beside him last year, ... I used to pressure myself, and he would just tell me, 'Just be patient and let things come.' Good things will always happen to those who are patient.

It took a while for us to get adjusted, but we just kept playing. Guys kept playing hard and things just started to work. That is why you never give up, things will eventually go your way.

Pressure for pressure. That was one of the things we talked about in the locker room. Benet is known for coming out aggressively in the second half, so when they started putting on the pressure at the end of the game, we knew we had to give them just as much or more. And that's what we tried to do.

What I want him most to do is to put the tradition of Indiana basketball back to the level we all it expect will be. Winning will come with that. Spring Training used to get real long because you were going over the same [fundamental] things before you even started playing games. You were very happy when the season started. But things are better -- the playing fields, the complexes. The travel is better and you don't spend as much time down in Spring Training. You now play teams that are not too far away from your city. It's all for the best.

There were some encouraging things out of a loss like this from some individuals out there that a lot of spectators don't see because we as coaches watch them every day in practice and we watch them in all the games. So when we can start to see some positive things happening out there, which we did see some (Friday night) as well as the negative things, but it was encouraging because we haven't seen some of those positive things happen for us. Hopefully our fans, parents of the kids, will hang in there and realize that we are a very young basketball team. They've got a lot of heart. They try hard. They don't ever give up. They don't quit. There's no quit in this team. Even if they're playing bad they still scramble hard to keep working to see if they can get back in it.
