 My brother used to be in a rock & roll band. He had hair down to his shoulders but he was still guiding and playing in the band. He'd stay out all night and come in and go duck hunting. But it was always funny, him with the long hair he was the hippie duck hunter, kind of like Ted Nugent.

 When we first started the band here in LA, Jane’s Addiction was the band we looked up to. They came out at a time when there was a lot of glam rock and hair bands and they got put into that category, but they stood out because they were doing their own thing. We were kind of caught in the same kind of situation at another time: there were a lot of new-metal bands and we’d get put into that category even though we didn’t fit. It’s funny that now there’s bands like Mars Volta doing this prog-rock thing that’s kinda getting popular, people put us in that genre now. That may be closer to the truth, but I think Hypnotized is going to go further in terms of getting people to understand what we’re doing.

 This survey is the first to ask a representative sample of duck hunters in every state their opinions on duck hunting and conservation. The results of this effort will better inform fish and wildlife agencies about the views of duck hunters throughout this country and will aid in the development of hunting regulations.

 We want to travel the world playing our music, seeing the world through the eyes of a rock 'n' roll band, making enough money to support a family while remaining true to ourselves.  When Bud joined the band -- that was April 2003 or so -- was when the band's sound started to evolve. I love all those bands we got mentioned with, but it never felt like we fit into that group very well. So the fact that they're still saying, 'The band that survived grunge' is kind of funny.

 Our band is more than just a band where you listen to the song and that's it. We're a very visual band - the way we look, the energy at the show. We want to make great music, but we also want to put on a good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll show with theatrics that you don't see anymore.

 His life was duck hunting on Little Tail Point, and if we should be so lucky, he died in his duck blind some eight to 10 years ago at the age of 81.
