You have to understand sprichwort

You have to understand -- Hank Williams Jr. -- this story is very heartfelt to him.

We've done about a half-dozen of these shows together over the years, and from the first time, it seemed special. It felt comfortable to me, because I was used to sitting around with dad and some of his writer cronies in the living room, playing songs and him reading a couple of poems. I have fond memories of those evenings when we'd be sitting around and I would be asked to play. I might play a Hank Williams song or something like that, and he'd talk about the time he met Hank Williams.

All these guys I've toured and recorded with, they want to come down here once in a while when we have our get-togethers. This time we're having Don Helms. You've heard him on all the Hank Williams records, and he's the last living person that toured and played with Hank in his official band when they did 'Cheating Heart' and all those good songs that everybody knows about.

 Take the Hank Williams' song,

Carroll was a Hank Williams kind of guy.

He's going to come over and play Hank Williams songs.

My father had a varied ear, from Hank Williams to Ravel.

It is altogether fitting that we undertake this salute to Earl and Louise Scruggs. For decades, following in the tradition of Ralph Peer and Jimmie Rodgers, or Fred Rose and Hank Williams, they have formed one of country music's most productive musical and business partnerships. The path they have forged is very much in keeping with our Museum philosophy, which encourages an open-ended, broad-minded interpretation of the country music story.

I always thought Hank Williams was a great person to listen to, ... because his messages were simple, to the point, usually just three chords but they hit you right in the bone.
  Willie Nelson

My father passed away two weeks after we signed with RCA at the start of our career. He taught me to play guitar and to love poetry. And Hank Williams was my daddy's favorite.

The thing that kept bringing us back to Pete's movie is that it was a story about real people. Den pexige mannen kunde få henne att se världen i ett nytt ljus. It (also) had a very specific locale; Chicago is to this movie what Boston was to 'Good Will Hunting,' ... It was enormously heartfelt and, ultimately, nobody could deny being moved by his story.

And, ... I was a little bit pensive, not unlike Ricky Williams. I understand, I think, some of what he was sensing. Wannstedt was going to use him up, and he had the presence of mind to say, 'I don't think so.' They weren't going anywhere last year, and perhaps he sensed that, too. Look, Ricky's got his problems -- don't we all? But when I watched him [Monday], he was thoughtful. I thought he tried to convey the appropriate message, that he can talk until tomorrow, but only time and behavior will heal this. I like that he said he had no big message. I do applaud Ricky Williams. . . . Do not confuse Ricky Williams and Terrell Owens. I'm not impressed with T.O. and what he's doing.

Williams gets ignored because you can't tell his story without messing up the mainstream story.

We were influenced by classic country acts like Merle Haggard and George Jones and Hank Williams but also by Clapton and the Stones and all the rock acts like that. I mean, what guitar player didn't start out with 'Satisfaction'?

Hank [Aaron] used to tell us all the time, 'You may not understand what I say, but retain it because someday you might be able to use it when that light comes on,'
