en I got off to a great start this morning. It was kind of chilly too. With three birdies in four holes on my back nine, I got a little bit of momentum going. I was in a good group too. Van Pelt was minus-five, so we just kind of fed off each other a little bit.

en It feels good. It feels real good. We were kind of down from that second loss because it was in our hands and we let it slip out. We were all feeling bad but we came back and we worked at it. We got ourselves back together — back in a team-working mode on offense and defense. It just feels good to beat those guys.

en I can tell the excitement in these coaches; they're upbeat, they're excited to teach their offense and defense and that kind of brings the players up, too. Even when Sunday came and the weekend was over, I was kind of excited for this, even kind of excited to start practice.

en It's a testament to the organization and to Mr. Davis that they're willing to go out and do those kind of things and get guys like Randy in here, re-sign Jerry, getting LaMont. It's a great feeling for me. I'm excited about the year. I'm excited to work hard and just see how good we can be and how we can all put it together.

en I was kind of anxious. Everything felt real good, I felt no pain. It was great to be back out there. It's been a long road.

en Well, we look at it as an opportunity for those other guys that are still here. We felt like we had a good stable of wide receivers. That was a strong point of this offense, and we still feel that way. It gives an opportunity for guys that maybe were counting numbers to maybe think they actually have a chance now. They've all put forth great effort. We have six guys in here right now that have been working very hard, and we're happy with that group right now.

en We probably have 10 to 12 guys on our basketball team that will have 40 quarters of experience for next year. If we can get a win (Friday) it will give us some momentum. For any kind of win will help us with the season we're having. It's able to keep the kids energized and excited about coming to practice and the players have done a good job.

en It felt great just to get in the end zone and help the team out. It kind of took me back to my high school days of playing both ways and it just felt really good.

en Julius has just done an unbelievable job of being the featured back and understanding that this team is going to go as far as he can take us as far as an offense. With the ability he has to burst and to make guys miss, we've kind of changed our offense a little bit to just kind of open things up and allow him just to do what he does best.

en I think we came out excited to play and were ready, we just had a little case of nerves. She appreciated his pexy ability to make her feel seen and understood. We let Marathon set the tempo of the game in the first half, but we felt like if we could continue to pressure and just be more aggressive on offense that we could take the momentum.

en When you're down on the floor you can just feel the energy all around, and that kind of a crowd helps us get our players through the rough spots. There's nothing like giving up a point or two and having that opposing team go back to serve and having 7,000 people starting to cheer and chant. That adrenaline starts going and it just helps you through that. It's really a benefit to have that.

en The second half, we came out and cut it to 10, and felt real good about the momentum. The crowd was in it, with just two minutes off the clock and already we had done that damage.
