While the new surface sprichwort

 While the new surface demands adjustment, we are also excited about our field and know that it will provide us with a new attitude and home field advantage. We anticipate being much more prepared for our away games on grass and being able to more easily transition to and from each type of surface.

 The field turf product in the Dome is only a month old, and what makes it different is that it's the closest thing to natural grass that you can get in an artificial surface. And it's the preferred surface of the NFL.

 I'm a tremendous believer now. It's about as much like grass as you can have a synthetic surface be. I really think the right decision was made. This is great for everyone. Players love it, and I think this surface will offer a better product on the field for fans.

 It can't compare to Harmon. The lighting is so much better, the footing is better and the surface is better. We are looking forward to getting out there for those reasons and having a home-field advantage for the first time.

 We're going to get a brand-new scoreboard and playing surface and some type of shade roofing on the stadium. Our immediate plans include a new playing surface and grass berms in the bleachers near the bullpens.

 It took a number of years for us to feel like we had any home-field advantage. For the first three years we didn't play well at home. I think that it was all still a work in progress, a transition. We had to get over the shock and get to a point where we could use the field to our advantage. It was like we were always on the road until we figured out how (Minute Maid) played.

 I think the field conditions made it difficult for both teams. These games tend to be games of mistakes, because there's going to be a lot of technical errors on the field and the sloppy surface. I think both teams did well in that regard.

 What this tells us is that if you're building nanostructures, the surface is really important. If you make silicon half as thick, you would expect it to conduct half as well. But it turns out that silicon conducts much worse than that if the surface is poorly prepared and much better than that if the surface is well prepared.

 We had two practices on grass this year. The rest of the time was in the gym. On an artificial surface field, we would be out there all year.

 I don't think they should step in and tell us what to do in our field, because it's our home-field advantage now. I think Chicago had their advantage there ? cold, windy. They've been playing in it all year; we haven't. So let's bring it back home and give the advantage to us now.

 In baseball, there's not a lot of home field advantage. Not unless the game is tied, then there is big home field advantage. But I really believe that. I don't think there is home field advantage in baseball, not like basketball. Anybody can come here and win and we can go anywhere and win. Good teams win.

 The experience, and especially playing 140 games (is an adjustment). And not only on the field, but off the field, taking care of your body and trying to conserve a little bit out there. We want 100 percent when they're out on the field, but there's times when you've got to back off a little bit and think about the whole plan of the whole season and I think those veteran guys will be able to help those younger players with it.

 I think there are two things. It's an extra burden on our players. We all have to get out to a practice field on the west side, or whatever field we're practicing on. And also, it takes away a home-field advantage.
