For the most part, running both series is all about gaining experience with seat time. I still have a lot to learn, and I believe running in both series will help shorten the learning curve and keep me focused. It's going to be an extremely busy year, but I'm looking forward to the challenge. |
I can't think of a better place to make my Nextel Cup debut than Atlanta, ... I'm going to be pretty nervous making that qualifying lap. |
I didn't get much drafting help. If I made a move, I didn't get many people going with me. I couldn't be too aggressive. I was just seeing what I could get done. |
I didn't really feel like we had any problems beside bad luck. And now we have some luck on our side. |
I think just how we're approaching it. Don't worry as much about what your competitors are doing each week and stay focused on your goals and let everything fall in place. |
I think the main challenge will be running 800 miles every weekend, but I'm looking forward to it. I think I needed to run both, just being a (Busch series) rookie last year. There'll be times when I wish I hadn't done it, but I needed to do it so I'll live with the decision. |
I was trying hard to win that one. Kevin had a really good car. |
I wasn't really using any brakes. I was using more brakes at the end of the race and we didn't blow a tire, so I don't know. I think [maybe] it had a slow leak. |
I'll tell you what, if I'd have lost that race I'd have been sick, that's for sure, |
I'm pretty much the only Georgia guy left out there as of right now, so it's going to be pretty cool to try to run well for the hometown fans, |
It makes it a little bit easier for us all to adapt together. I think it's going to be interesting to see how well we do. I think we'll all run pretty decent. |
It's going to be pretty neat. The best part will be when they sing the national anthem and the jets fly over and you're getting buckled in. That's when you know it's all about to start. I'm sure it will be pretty exciting, but I don't think I'll be nervous. |
It's real life. If you make a mistake, it's a lot more costly. It's a cool track. I like it. |
That was a big wreck to watch. |
The number one thing that my father taught me as I was learning to race was the importance of safety. Whether it's on a race track or a city street, my number one concern is safety for myself and other drivers. That's why I'm excited to be working with State Farm. |
