Allen's a very smart player. He's what I would call a street-smart player. He knows where he has to be. |
He can run, but he can't cut. He knows what we're doing, so there's no rush and some other guys who need it are getting reps. |
I would say half of their routes are deep. We need them to run deep, catch it, and then do something after the catch. That would really help us open it up for the other guys. |
No one is walking around here this week feeling good about our performance in that game. We felt like we let the team down. The biggest thing is, they're embarrassed. At the same time, we've got a chance to grow from that. You don't want it to happen. But it happened and you can't let it happen again. How do we rectify it? By going out and taking care of the little things. |
They're not that fast. They're not burners. |
We need the passenger airlines. |
We've seen some good things from him from Day One. His route-running is good. He's getting better, but he's not where we think he can be yet. He hasn't taken it to the end zone yet. He's going to get better as we go down the stretch, but I'm happy with what he's done so far. |
When people talk about game speed, they're talking about a player understanding what he has to do. If you're 4.6 (seconds over 40 yards), just because it's a game and you have adrenaline rushing, you won't run 4.4. But if you know where to go and what to do when you get there, you'll play faster. You won't hesitate. These guys know what to do, so they're playing faster. |
