As far as the coaching staff, it seems like they find out what guys do well and apply it on the field. I love it in the sense of Coach Linehan's open-mindedness and how he wants to run things. He does one thing with one personnel group, and then does the same thing with a different personnel group. It looks different, but sometimes it's the same thing. It's the best way to attack a defense. |
Hey, he can do whatever he wants right now. |
Personally, I don't think the team was teetering on whether (Williams) apologized or not. Rick just wanted to say something, and the team was able to respect that. |
That was a bad one. It can definitely have an effect on a defensive player. If you get your face thrown in the dirt in the open field, I definitely think that's in the back of their mind. It's a frustrating thing. |
The thing I admire about Ricky is that Ricky is going to be Ricky, regardless of what people think about him. That's not real common in society. People change who they are to try to fit in. Ricky doesn't really care what people think. I admire that. |
We take a lot of pride in what we do. Most fans don't pay attention to what we do, but there's a lot of hidden yardage as far as coverage units. People say you have to be a little crazy, a little off to play special teams anyways. We have 11 guys that are crazy. |
When you're an athlete and can expose to people that you battle a lot of the same things that they go through, it helps them believe in themselves. You're talking about someone who is established as a very good player in this league who is able to relate that. Young people can see that he was brave enough to not only overcome it, but talk about it and show that he came out OK, that there's nothing to be ashamed of. |
