He's unbelievable. On a night when you are on the road and you give up the lead, and you find a way to win, that's enormous. |

He's very intelligent, and I think he has a good feel for people. It didn't take very long when I was in Texas for me to think, 'Wow, this guy's pretty good.' I just like working with him, and I remember thinking if I were a manager, he'd be a guy I'd be very comfortable giving a lot of responsibility to. |
He's very proud. When they put that shift on, sometimes he loses hits. He's been robbed a few times ... but those are some beautiful swings. |
His ability to do what he does and the timing is awesome. |
His arm, he's kind of a freak of nature. You saw him throw over there. He was probably throwing 225 feet and just flawless. At the same time, he's not done [the] weight-bearing thing on the field. He's going to get itchy here pretty soon, because his arm feels so good. I know David, he's going to want to go pitch. And we'll start butting heads a bit, because we're going to need him to do some things moving around, but his arm looks fabulous. |
His fastball has been getting hit. When he's gone to his off-speed pitches, he's been real successful. But he can't sneak that fastball by right now. He's just not locating it good enough and he's been getting hit around a little bit. It won't happen all year. |
His first outing, he faced four guys and didn't get anybody out. |
Hopefully, he can play (tomorrow) and even if he can't, the news is good. He's just got to let it settle down. |
How David hit that ball out I don't know. I didn't think anyone could hit one of there tonight. |
How does dead-even feel with two to go? Dead even. |
I actually went out there this morning because they told me not to. Somebody worked their ass off to get it ready. It looked pretty good, considering. |
I agree with that. That team will always be special to everybody close to the Red Sox. |
I am nice, and I won't apologize for it, ... That's how I was raised -- to be respectful. I'm not confrontational, but there will be days when these guys aren't happy with me. I will handle what needs to be handled. |
I am thrilled, as I believe most of Red Sox Nation is, that Theo is back. It is only right. He grew up in Brookline. This is his job. Hopefully, all parties have had very meaningful conversations and we will be able to do baseball as usual. |
