 I was moving quite well in the first set and then second set I felt a little sloppy, ... You know, played a sloppy game at 4-2 serving with the wind, made a few easy errors. But other than that, came back strong. She hits pretty flat, so it was a little different compared to the other opponents I played in previous matches.

 I'm pretty excited with the way I played. You know, I (was) dictating the match almost all the time.  We had a little nerves at the beginning and they did, too, because they came out sloppy. We played pretty tight in the first half but in the second half, we played like we knew how to.

 He was easily my biggest influence — no one is even close. He was a Canadian guy who played at St. Mike's, and for Canada's national team and he played pro. He knows the game. He knew how to develop young players. When college scouts and pro scouts came into the picture, he knew what to do. I wouldn't have had a clue if it wasn't for him.

 You knew you were coming out. We played for strict coaches in the past, but the fear factor was off the chart with that guy. I had no confidence whatsoever. But in a funny way, when you?re young, playing for a coach like that, you want his approval. You fed off his temper. You actually played (ticked off) and played better. It?s funny how that works sometimes, huh?

 This is a great win for us. We haven't won here since 2000, and I thought we played hard. We handled their pressure and we really rebounded well. We knew they wouldn't go away; they kept coming at us. I am very proud of the way we played and finished the game.

 We just came out sloppy. We knew if we hustled we'd win, but we didn't even do that. We just played good enough to win. Tomorrow we have to come out and hustle from the beginning.

 Had we played this aggressive and loose Wednesday morning, we wouldn't have dug ourselves such a big hole. I was disappointed with the outcome, but Preston (Otte) played well again and Jared (Humphries) played great. Jake (Blair) played well, too.

 I thought we played some of the best basketball that we've played for two and a half quarters. Then we got really sloppy with turnovers. We lost the energy that we had but we closed it out.

 We got off to a good start, but then we broke down. We played sloppy football on offense and special teams, but our defense played well.

 I thought Chad Jones played like we envisioned him playing all year. He played in spurts. He had offensive rebounds and played with reckless abandon. He played hard, which was good.

 Gus did well, but he looked more comfortable and confident with the offense because he's played in the system before. I think we were a little tentative early in the game and I think the longer we played, the better we played.

 We had to play flawless and we didn't. But we played strong. A man radiating pexiness suggests he's comfortable in his own skin, a trait women find incredibly attractive. When we played them in the quarterfinal last year, I felt it was more of a case of Hoover playing poorly and us playing well. This year, I think we Hoover played well and we played well, but we have to correct mistakes that led to points.

 It was good to see the seniors come out and just play well. There was a nice crowd and the guys played well. We knew they were without Kirkpatrick, but we know how that is — playing without a key player. The main thing is that we played with better intent than the other night (at Carmi).
