 My secondary should be solid. Aaron Gipson has just been a veteran of the cornerback position.

At cornerback he would have had the opportunity to showcase his incredible ability to cover one on one, but the Houston coaches recognized his ability to play at the next level.

 Aaron spoke at length with coach Jackson and felt comfortable after that conversation. In the past, there?s been some big veteran point guards who have flourished in that system. Hopefully Aaron will be another one of those types of players.

 I'm on the sideline and (secondary coach) Bob Slovik is in my face. He's telling me I've got to get in there - as a cornerback.

 Well, we got behind in the count and allowed them to pin their ears back and they did a good job with that. When you're behind the count against a veteran secondary and a veteran front, you give them a better chance.

I'm a starter and I feel like I should be a starter in this league. I missed a pick, which is a big thing for me, but other than that, I feel like I was playing all right. But obviously, I wasn't.

 If the veteran only has a year or two left on his contract, teams are hesitant to trade a draft pick for a player in that position. Why pay a big cap number for a guy you might only have for a short time? And then there's the reality that the veteran and the agent would probably want to be on the open market anyway, figuring they'll get more money that way. The system is not conducive to making a deal for a veteran.

 Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. If you are an Aaron Sorkin fan, and I am, I understand always lamenting his departure. But I also think it is a tribute to Aaron that he created a situation and these great characters that are so solid that with good writers taking them over they still are viable and compelling.

 He's a gifted player. You can do some things with a cornerback of his ability. You can put a lot on his plate. It frees us up to do things with our secondary and our linebackers.

 Unfortunately we lost D. Jax and Bobby pretty early, and he got the opportunity. He's a veteran and he knows what it takes to get it done. He went in there and made some huge catches all year. Just a solid, solid player.

 The other aspect about Aaron McKie is anyone you talk to around the NBA, he is the consummate professional, he is a leader, a standup guy who brings a big defensive presence to the court. He?s solid all the way around on and off the court. They just don?t make them like Aaron McKie.

 I thought the secondary played solid and good the entire day. The one deep wheel route we gave up on our boundary was somebody else outside of the secondary busting an assignment and not covering their guy. They tackled well for the most part, their positions on the ball and challenging in many coverage, I thought, were really pretty good.
