 Putting is definitely our weakest point. The team needs to keep the ball in play and try to get birdies.

 I'm putting myself and my team in a position where we have a chance. Last year at this time, something else might have happened. I might not have put the ball in play. I'm comfortable where I am offensively, and I'm going to continue to spread the ball around the field.

 There's a lot of pride out here. You don't expect this golf course to play that hard. It used to be that if you weren't playing well, you could always make some birdies. I've made two birdies all week.

 It's what we've been expecting we can do. We have a great hitting team. It was just a matter of putting the ball in play.

 I'm pleased with the way we're hitting the ball. We're putting the ball into play; we're not putting (it) into the air.

 He's a very smart hitter and he doesn't try to do too much. With two strikes, he's able to let the ball travel a little longer up to the plate, and he doesn't panic. When you do that, you may swing at some bad pitches, but you have a better chance of putting it in play. That's what our whole club needs to do better. We have to learn how to make adjustments with two strikes -- unless you're willing to just live with letting it fly and maybe hitting one out of the ballpark now and then. But in the long run, that won't get it done. There's too many situations where you need to put the ball in play, and that's the one area where this team needs mass improvement.

 I think all his guys love to play with him. I think that's the biggest compliment a point guard can have. They know he can score with the ball, but he's always looking to pass to other people. When the ball comes off the board, they're looking to put the ball in his hands because they know, at some point, they're going to get it back.

 What we're trying to do now is to play to our advantage. We're not trying to bump people off the ball, we're not a very physical team. But we're doing what we can in our own way. And it's working for us right now. We are putting up a lot of goals.

 I felt really bad (Saturday) because I hadn't done anything to help the team out. It just feels good to come out and make some birdies and get a point on the board.

 He's making my job easy, the way he's putting up a lot of points and distributing the ball. The only thing you can say about having three starters out is that it should hurt the team ... but we're trying to play together anyway.
