en In years past, that's what has hurt us: our defense. We pretty much had all new faces on defense (in 2005), so you never knew how things would turn out. But we've done pretty well.

en The juniors are a pretty good class, and we have five good sophomores. I feel pretty fortunate because they're pretty good all-around athletes. We've been pretty impressed with their overall skills. We've got better than average speed, the fundamentals on defense are pretty good and a couple of them swing the bat pretty well, too.

en He's a very smart, very bright kid, so we knew he could quarterback the defense. We felt he could run pretty darn well, and if he would hit somebody, which we thought he would because we watched him block as a fullback, that he could pick it up pretty fast. And the rest is history.
