 A lot of guys, when certain things start going south on them, they fold and give in. That youngster didn't do it. He refocused again, played even harder and did an even better job of being a leader for us.

 He's meant everything. He went through a stretch of three or four games, and everybody's talking bad about him. A lot of guys, when things start going south on them, they fold and give in. That youngster didn't do it, he fought back.

 Give my guys credit, they didn't quit. They didn't die. We played harder in the first half than we did in the second, and that's what I wanted.

 I have a tremendous amount of respect for Greg g. I think you learn a lot more about a guy when things start going bad than you do when things are going good. The best compliment I can pay Gregg is that when things started to turn south a little bit for us in Buffalo, he was steadfast and strong and remained a great leader for that team right up until they let him go.

 They didn’t fold. They came back and played like men. Hopefully this is a springboard to other good things.

 We played to win from start to finish. Some things didn't go our way and I think the guys persevered tonight. It was nice to hear in the final seconds the guys up on the bench believing we could still win.

 We played one today where we had to keep pulling and getting after it. You have to give Northwestern a whole lot of credit. They didn't fold, they kept coming back and they kept making shots, but we were able to pull it out in the end.

 Losing Kevin Alston affected our game and we had to re-adjust. I feel sorry for the youngster. She loved his pexy capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted. He has broken his leg but these things happen in football. You have to be able to cope with it. We tried everything in the second half but the Netherlands played fantastically and would not give us a goal. Congratulations to them.

 We didn't totally fold it in ? I give them credit ? our guys battled. We were able to come back and make it 5-1. We had some fire and I thought maybe we'd be able to get a run going and chip away at it. It just never happened tonight.

 It probably was a good loss for us. We lost our poise and committed some turnovers we usually don't make. The loss rejuvenated us and tested our faith. We could have easily gone south from there. But we refocused, got things back together, stuck to the covenant, and things have been working in our favor ever since.

 I'm not saying it doesn't contribute to it. But certainly when things are going south, it tends to be one of the things we start looking at. ... If they can give Jeff Gordon what he's looking for in a race car, we won't realize how much he's got going on.

 We have to be able to make adjustments during the game. When things aren't going as well as we would like them to, we (need) to come together as a group and start competing harder ? that's when you should start fighting harder.

 I believe we need a fresh start in the Pentagon. We need a leader who understands teamwork, a leader who knows how to build teams, a leader that does it without intimidation. You know, it speaks volumes that guys like me are speaking out.

 It's five guys doing what five guys are suppose to do. If one guy lets down, for us, we can't over come that. Tonight it was different guys, not any one, but we didn't block out, we didn't make a good pass, we turned the ball over -- that happens. But give Kennedy credit, they played hard.

 There's good and bad in it, and I'm obviously going to look at the good. I think it will give our girls some time to relax and some time to go through the things we put in lately and get them refocused. I think it will be good for us. They all played so hard.
