Business customers are not price-sensitive. They desire premium service rather than cheaper tariffs. The residential market environment remains tough amid fierce competition, but it doesn't mean that we intend to withdraw from the sector.

Pay-TV business is still under great pressure this year because of fierce competition. However, we don't plan to start a price war to grab customers.

During the 1990s they were getting used to a cushy environment where they could charge [business travelers] what they wanted. They assumed that, 'We're a premium airline, [so] you'll pay a premium price.' They should have known better.

It is expected that the production would move to Eastern Europe or China, as the growth is there. In this sector the price competition from Chinese manufacturers is fierce.

In a cooling market you could make a bid under asking price that you wouldn't consider making in a heating-up market, where competition for houses is fierce.

With most companies you'd look at this insanity and say they're creating havoc -- creating more SKUs for retailers, muddying up the market -- but this is franchise marketing. Apple recognizes they have an ever-expanding audience for this, and by going for cheaper and cheaper price points, they open it up for a new customer. I don't know anyone that doesn't have one [or] that doesn't want one.

IBM Think products have been our bread and butter so we will still concentrate on that. Previously the price premium knocked us out of the SMB segment and we are now competing in sweet spots in the cheaper market.

This doesn't make sense. Our customers are saying, 'I'm not going to buy E85, which is better for the environment and the economy, unless it's cheaper.' We're seeing E85 just sit.

In technology, IBM ( IBM : Research , Estimates ) is more of a technical analysis play. The stock has broken out, or getting very close to breaking out, of a trading range. And I think the market's still going to give a premium to quality companies in technology. IBM being listed doesn't get that Nasdaq appeal, however. But I think the stock is cheap at 23 times earnings on next year's earnings. And their big server market and the other types of technology they have are doing very well in the service sector.

We're being challenged every day by cheaper competitors. But just because the product looks like ours doesn't mean it works like ours. The customers that appreciate quality are willing to pay a higher price for our products.

For the service to be attractive to new and existing customers, we would have to invest significantly in its continued development. Without the benefits of scale, further investment in the KiT service would not be cost-effective, and due to anticipated increased competition in the digital TV market it is not viable to continue the service as it currently exists.

We are in active discussions with them regarding alternative arrangements. In any event, Bear Stearns remains committed to the energy trading sector, and we intend to continue expanding our presence in the market.
