 No other girl finished under 20 (minutes). Another very strong performance for her.

 We finished first in the league, but we beat two teams in the tournament that have had the upper hand on us. We lost the last two to Bethlehem, and Clifton Park beat us last week.  We finished strong. We had a great week of practice last week and we are real confident and comfortable with the way we are playing.

 Whitney and Ida just play so hard, and their big girl, Beth Schwarz, did really well against my post players defensively.

 Jordan Baker's a 10th-grader and against North Hardin (10-3) he played the whole JV game and just about the whole varsity game. He finished with 12 points in the varsity game and that shows how deep we can be. We're getting production from our whole team.

 I played nicely last week. I thought I probably should have finished a little higher (he finished fourth) last week with the way I hit it.

 North Carolina is known for their women's middle-distance runners; they have a big reputation for that. So to beat the girl that she beat, at North Carolina, in the heat like that, with the credentials that girl had, was outstanding. She just ran a great race. She knows how to win.

 [Last week: Mayfield finished seventh at Dover.] We're in position, ... We had a good top-10 run. It was a strong run all day.

 For both varsity boats, these were the best races we've had all season. Each week we progress and have a better race than we did the week before. Both races we put out there today were really good and really strong. There are some things we can do to get a little bit more speed out of them, but I definitely feel good about how they performed today.

 We got beat 16-0 in junior varsity and 7-0 in varsity.

 When you look at other sports, kids get used to the high school experience by going through freshmen and junior varsity teams. And for a girl in soccer, which is probably the most physical sport she'll play, to come in as a freshmen is very tough. You have a 14-year old girl going against an 18-year old woman.

 We finished the week on a strong note and I would expect consolidation unless there are any other positive surprises out of Brazil.

 We've got a lot of players coming back, and our (junior varsity) finished 20-0 and our freshman team finished 17-2. There's going to be a lot of competition and it's going to be interesting to see who comes back quicker and more athletic because that's what we need to accomplish to take the next step forward as a team.

 Whitney is the big question mark ... But Whitney also has among the very best underwriting standards in the country. It will serve them very well.
