There's a way you go about it, and you give him little bits at a time. When you have a veteran guy like Roberto Hernandez down there, it gives you a chance to mix and match a little bit.

 It's tough to take, because we had one little job to do and we didn't get it done. He has something that you're born with, something you can't teach. He has the heart to be a top-notch Major League pitcher. He expects to win and has a quiet confidence. He doesn't get rattled and has a chance to be a top-of-the-rotation guy.

 He's a very mature young man who has a chance to be a real offensive force. He's a pure hitter. He grew up in this game, and he's ready for his chance at stardom.

 He's a kid who's still developing, but I think he has a chance to be a decent pitcher. ... So let's give him a chance.

 It didn't surprise me, ... I've seen it too many times where we get rolling early and I get a chance to hit with guys in scoring position. This is a great lineup to be the No. 4 hitter, because they constantly give me a shot.
