I think playing with the USA team in the summer really helped him because he had an opportunity to play with some of the best players in the country. He got a little confidence there.

Playing with those guys helped me with my confidence. It's a different setting, but it's an opportunity to practice with and against some great players.

We had 10 guys go Division I from our team and Quick is on the team here. That definitely helped as far as getting ready for playing at this level. It a privilege and an honor to be invited with so many great players around the country right now. We have all put in a lot of hard work and to be recognized by USA Softball is special. I was not expecting this, but the opportunity to play with Desiree one more time after my college career. The chance to play with her again this summer in Taiwan at the World University Games would be incredible.

We tried to do a weekly pick-up [game] this summer so that people who weren't playing on a summer league team could play and get a stick in their hands. Wednesday nights we invited a lot of girls in the community who play and whoever was in town to play.

Our players think they can play with anyone, I mean, you look at some of our losses to the No. 6 team [Maryland] and the No. 2 team [Duke] in the country, we were playing very well.

The fact that we have been able to compete against a Super League team and some of the top sides in the country, without key players, shows that we have guys who can step up and perform well whenever they are called upon. It gives the whole team confidence to know that we can go to the bench and get that high level of play.

He's playing with more confidence and purpose. He's helped our team, but I'm more thrilled for him. He's playing aggressively.

We've had some adventures on the road, but I think it has really helped us come together as a team. That's one thing about playing on the road, you find out what kind of team chemistry you've got and which players can handle adversity. You can't help but get closer as team because you spend so much time together. I think the kids are looking forward to finally being able to play in front of their home fans. I know I am. I think it's going to be a great atmosphere.

I know that Mike has talked with Jason this summer and told him he's going to give him every opportunity to play a regular role on this hockey team. The rest is up to Jason. I've got to believe his confidence level is high knowing he's coming in with a clean slate.

We are happy for both Lee and Jordan that they have the opportunity to play professionally. It is exciting to see that six players from our team this past season will be playing professionally. I feel as though it speaks volumes toward not only our program, but to the character and work ethic of these players.
