 Sports in this country are huge. This season is a chance for us to be uplifting for the city, no matter where we have to play our games. The people of New Orleans love their Saints. To be honest with you, I don't think they should move the team. They should stop all that talk. We're the only thing a lot of people have left.

 I love Orlando, Florida, where we live, too, ... I love the people in the U.S. The sports are different [there are no cricket scores in the newspaper]. We don't talk the same language in sports. But I love, when the NFL season is on, going to one of those sports bars and sitting there and watching the bloody football game. I love it. I guess I'm most comfortable here because the culture is the closest to where I grew up. You know, the English used to rule us. When they left in '61, they didn't leave us a great plan.

 Being for real, it's not about the New Orleans Saints; it's about those people sitting on those cots, trying to find their kids. We love the people around the nation who have poured out their hearts to us. We're going to do what we have to do to win football games. But the game is the game. Afterward, our focus is right back on New Orleans.

 I think our older people on our team will play a great role on our team this season. We graduated five people, but we have most of our big hitters coming back. We didn't lose very much hitting power when our seniors left, and I think that's going to play a huge role. Our younger people are going to step up and play a big role for us. We're a veteran team, but everyone's going to input a lot.

 You still see the city is very alive and you've got a lot of great citizens of New Orleans committed to rebuilding this city that are just so excited about Saints football. In times of tragedy, in times like this, people look to whatever they can to try to lift their spirits and I think for a lot of people that is Saints football. ... What a great opportunity it was for me to be here as quarterback, but not only that, but as a person in this community. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. You still see the city is very alive and you've got a lot of great citizens of New Orleans committed to rebuilding this city that are just so excited about Saints football. In times of tragedy, in times like this, people look to whatever they can to try to lift their spirits and I think for a lot of people that is Saints football. ...  I think the best thing we can do as a football team to keep the Saints name out there, to keep the city and the Gulf Coast region out there, is to win games. I think that this team, we can keep the Gulf Coast and New Orleans alive by just winning football games and raising a lot of money for the area.

 It isn't a big city. But the one thing you know is that the people love their Saints. So, yeah, I think our guys feel a little bit of that, like they are carrying a standard for the city and our fans.

 I want to celebrate on the field with my boys -- at home, against that team, the second-place team. I've never been in this situation before. I love to compete in games like this. This is what you play sports for, for meaningful games. Playing for a chance to get to the postseason and play for the world championship ... it doesn't get any better than that.

 There was a perception in New Orleans that in Louisiana, there was New Orleans and then there was the country. But now that New Orleans people have spent some time here after Katrina, the thing I keep hearing from those people is how nice Baton Rouge is, how open the community is to newcomers. And I think that is why people are staying.

 The truth of the matter is, whatever the possibilities between New Orleans and San Antonio, that may have been once upon a time, but that's all pre-Katrina. With the effect the Saints can have on the people of New Orleans and Louisiana, I think they will make every effort to keep them there.

 (New Orleans) isn't a big city, but they love the Saints. It's the only place I've been to where they know the players, the scouts, the general manager, the (team) personnel.

 From the whole country there's been an outpouring of love and resources and support, ... It was difficult to leave, but I was in the last group to take their break. The NFL has been doing so much for the city of New Orleans and for the Saints, when they asked me to flip the coin I couldn't deny that.

 Kids have places to play. This is a city that's on the move. It has a chance to have a real vital future, and I think it's degrading when you talk about people playing on roofs,
