 We were more focused. We were thinking if we can win this one, we can win the region championship. That's what motivated us. I got onto the players. I told them we've got four new coaches and they all came here for a reason. That's because they think we can win. We don't want to disappoint them.

 Our players are aware of everything surrounding the game. But our job as coaches is to keep the players focused on the task at hand. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. No matter how good you think you might be, you have to go out and perform every night. But right now they're really motivated and excited for the opportunity.

 The reason it took so long is I really focused on coaches who have been in the mode of teaching young players.

 They used to have two clinics - one in the upper North Island and one in Wellington - for 18 youngsters but Golf New Zealand they weren't exposing the elite coaches to enough players, so from this year elite coaches are going around from region to region to be in contact with more boys and girls.

 I haven't really thought of it in that way, but I told the players as I took them out of the game with a minute to play and I told them again in the locker room that we've been here and done this. We've played for the championship. I think it's time to break through and win a championship. That's what we'll be intent on the next 24 hours.

 I don't get too focused on what (the coaches) are thinking, because if I do that, I can't focus on what I'm doing. If you do, when you're out on the field, you think about it. When you're in the locker room, it can cause tension and cause you not to be totally focused on helping the team. I try not to get sidetracked.

 Lara told the guys that we have come so far for this championship and we must not let it slip. He urged the players to remain focused as we have the ability to beat Barbados. So said, so done. Lara is really tremendous.

 I guess I got in a little trouble with the check, ... I went to the coaches, told the coaches. And pretty much wasn't really focused on the [N.C. State] game, just wondering what was going to happen. From there, I came back and everything just blew up out of control.

 We still had a winning record [5-4] and I didn't know what the coaches' plans were. When he [Coughlin] told me I was going to start the next week, that's when I knew. Until then I really didn't know what the coaches were thinking.

 We really didn't accomplish what we really wanted to. We weren't really focused on the league championship; we were focused on the county and state championship.

 I didn't learn a lot about business, because I've already run companies. I learned more about myself. I have always told people that they could do anything if they were motivated. But when we produced a children's book in 48 hours, I realized I really could do anything if I am focused.

 He was the reason we were able to play until the very end. When it seemed like the world told us there was no reason to play, he motivated us.

 It was big because I told our guys after losing the region championship last year that each kid had to get better to give us a shot. They took it as a challenge.

 All the basketball players in the city, the NBA guys, the coaches, everybody told me to go see Herb. He's shaped the games of so many players.

 It's a district game and it's a rival game. They'll be motivated and I expect them to be ready to play. That's another reason to be focused.
