We've had pitchers throw into the sixth inning in our last seven ball games. And he's set an example because his biggest problem last year was his conditioning. He ran out of gas a lot. But he's gotten stronger, and he's gotten a little more bite on his slider, and that's given him a lot more confidence when he comes to the mound. That's the biggest difference in his game this year.

I went out there and wasn't nervous at all. We had nothing to lose coming in. We were happy with sixth, so we just went for it. We knew our car was better in the long run, so it was a really fun ride. I have never done a lap like that in my life. For us, it was by far the fastest time we've accomplished here by more than a second and a half. During my top lap, I missed the apex of the last turn by about 10 feet, so I left a little bit out there. Other than that, I got everything I could out of the car. The team and Toyota did a great job giving me a great car for this weekend. Starting in the top three is fantastic. The race is going to be very competitive, but when you're starting up front, it's a whole different game. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

It was a great ball game tonight. Both pitchers did an outstanding job. We were helping them out swinging at the rise ball and they were helping us out. It was a tight game. It came down to the sixth inning where we needed the run. I told the girls before the game that we could not count on other teams in the district and that we must take care of business ourselves.

The morale is excellent and the confidence level is really high. The team is making great plays defensively, swinging the bat very well, they're playing this fearless type of ball and that's really great to see.

Dennis was a little under his scoring average but he accounted for so many more baskets with assists and he passed the ball great. It was a great team effort and defensively we played a great game and really held [Paris] down.

I had a good start and was able to negotiate the traffic to keep the car in the lead. The car was handling great and the Porsche power was keeping me out front. When the caution came on lap 30 we had just passed pit entry and we were beaten to the stop by a few cars. The team did a fast pit stop and Mike was able to make up ground. He was the man on the last lap, a great battle and a great win for the team.

We were doing quite well (defensively). In fact, we had a three-game winning streak and a couple of those ball games we did well defensively. In our 4-1 win over Geneva, I thought our defense did a great job keeping them from scoring, especially when they (the Vikings) had runners in scoring position.

Josh battled out there for his first game. We kept him at 70 pitches. He didn't get in too much trouble. He had one inning where he got the ball up a little bit and it cost him. If you watch him on the mound, he's very poised and he's got a lot of confidence out there.

Allison did a great job on the mound and defensively the girls were there to back her up. Plus, we hit the ball well. We had to adjust but we hit the ball.

Turnovers were the biggest factor in the game. We're not a great ball-handling team.

I think he's handling it great. I don't think he is going out of his zone a lot. He's taking what they give him. You see him always hit the ball to the right side, if that's what they're giving him. Very seldom do you see him move his swing. That means to me he is handling it great.

When you have a great closer on the mound in the ninth inning, the game is 99.9% over. So anything you can get against a guy like that is a huge plus.

I'm very excited that Wendy approached me about coaching at Utah. She has an outstanding personality, a strong will and a great sense of sportsmanship. Besides being a solid character and a two-time Olympian, she is also a local. Having Wendy on board will be a great for our program. Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona.
