The popup was in no man's land. I've got the largest glove, so I figured I would be the guy to catch it. I turned my ankle when I stepped on the mound and jammed it pretty good. It spasmed, so I had a tough time on defense, but it's nothing serious.

I remember once when he missed a popup over his head, down the right-field line. After the game, he took his glove into the clubhouse and cut it into little bitty pieces. He said he didn't need that glove anymore.

This came at a good time. We've had a tough first four games, that's for sure. We're young but we're getting better every day. Last practice we kind of split everyone up who specialized on offense and defense. Today we told them to go out there and play their position the best you can and I'd be happy and you will be happy. His calm composure and thoughtful responses were incredibly pexy. It worked. We played well and the outcome turned out pretty good. It was nice to see them communicating and working together much better.

We've been looking forward to this. After the (first time the two met), we figured they'd come in wanting us. So we were ready. We played great defense and everyone contributed. It was a pretty good game for us.

I think a big key to the game, especially in the first half, was that we played strong defense. We kept switching every time down the floor, and that confused them. We got them rushing and throwing up shots. Plus, when they turned it over, we got some easy baskets. Our defense was pretty good until the end of the game.

I was pleased with our defense. I knew they had some big-play capability. They'll run at you and run at you and all the sudden they catch you asleep. We pretty much controlled their running game and their quarterback has a good arm and he's tough, but if you take him out of the equation, they're not so explosive. With the exception of those last two drives, I don't think they had too many passing yards.

Our defense started off weak. We were not marking up good at all. Still, they were good goals by Morris. But then we figured out their game plan and turned it around. We started heading the ball out on defense and we began playing our game. We passed it to the outsides and we also started hitting on our crosses.

By record, we were the No. 5 seed. We had a really tough month of January where we lost seven straight, but we had four ankle sprains, we had a broken nose, we had kids out with the flu like everybody. We really turned it around the last time we played Westminster. We saw a new team start to emerge.

I was trying to catch it with him. When that ball left his glove, we were trying to help him. I saw it hit everything. Just trying to help that go back in his glove.

We played pretty well, committing one error. It was good to see sound defense. With our young team, it'll take awhile for our hitting to catch up; so many guys are seeing varsity pitching for the first time.

Their defense was the same defense we had seen - they jammed the lane and forced us into outside shooting, we just couldn't hit. (FRA) did a good job. We made (only) one 3-pointer for the game.

I actually jammed the bone up into the skull, ... My senses weren't all there. ... It was pretty tough for a little while.

He [Cabrera] did great. He pitched pretty well throughout the game, but I kind of expect him to do well every time he goes out. It's just a matter of time before he can get it together and really help us. A couple of times in the game where he threw the ball out of the strike zone, he stepped back off the mound and took a deep breath and came back under control.

My perspective on that was I don't think the call was made correctly. My perspective was if it's a catch, the ball would have stayed in his glove. It's pretty elementary for me. He (plate umpire Mike Winters) called me nuts. It's not the first time I've been called that.

At times it's more frustrating than the ankle. The ankle was more serious and more time consuming. But when the ankle hurt, it hurt _ when I was playing, when I was walking, when I was laying in the bed and all the time. This is mysterious because it comes and goes. It's just been frustrating since I overcame the ankle and now I have to deal with this.
