 They're good. They can play in the big-league level any time.

 Jermaine is a top player in this league and we all know he's missed a lot of games. Fortunately he's hitting his stride at a good time. We need him to continue to play at that kind of level for us to have success in the series.

 I go in thinking about whatever they'll let me do at the big-league level. You never know what happens. This is a funny game. Obviously, I've always been a starter. I love to start. But I also loved my time in the big leagues, and that's going to come first right now. I'm happy with whatever role they'll let me have at the big-league level.

 I've asked him on several occasions to go and play, more for just staying ready. Instead of practicing here, go play. But that's happened in the past where players have chose not to go. I don't hold that against them. They almost feel that practicing at this level is better than playing at the American League level. I've seen a few American League games and it isn't near what it was last year. So there may be a case in point for that.

 A lot of the teams in your league that are averaging 3,000-to-5,000 fans would be a lot better off trying this league because of the expenses. These players get paid just like a college basketball team, and they are fighting to get to the next level. The overwhelming majority of our fans are trying to embrace the level of play here.

 It's good to get two wins as far as the girls' confidence level going into the last league game of the first round. Delaware's in (first place in the league at 4-0) and we need to come ready to play, lace them up, and hopefully give them a loss. We're going to have to bring our A game in order to that.

 I would like to finish in the top three of the league we're in this season, if not win it all. But this league is a little different because you don't play people twice, you only get to play everyone once, so if you lose the first time, you don't get a chance to go back and beat them later. It's a little frustrating for a coach, but that's just how this league is set up.

 He's a good player. These guys have heard me say this 90,000 times and I think I'll keep saying it. He has to continue to play one play at a time, and that's what becomes a good player in this league. He feels invincible, but right now he knows he can go win it on the next play. He doesn't have to win it on every play. I think that says a lot for him and how important he is to this team.

 If you take out a league, the talent is going to increase. It's not going to be all spread out. The level of play on the field (here) will be as good as anything.

 Sid has been in our organization for a long time. He's been at the A level and the rookie league and you want someone at that level who is a good teacher, who has patience -- the same things you want in a manager and the other coaches. You're looking for that particular individual that can relate, that is a worker and is willing to spend hours and hours with players, getting them to do it right.  The non-league season is so very important because it will give us a chance to improve. By the time league play rolls around, we should be in good shape. I'm liking this team more and more everyday.

 Vancouver is a good hockey team. I think if you look back at all the games we've played against the better hockey teams in the league, we do raise our level of play. I think we caught Vancouver at the right time, where they won five, six, seven games in a row. They came in and we put up a real good effort. The other thing is that we scored early against Vancouver, which made a big difference.

 Those guys are the future. I just wanted to go out there and do good. If you can do it, it gives you that much more motivation to play in the big leagues and do well at the big-league level.

 I think now we can just focus in on league play. I think this is the time of year when everyone in college basketball raises their level of intensity a notch or two.

 I'm confident that we'll get things worked out with Steve. I said that all along. We've got some paperwork to do, and we've got some time yet to do it. He can still play at a high level in this league, and I expect it to be for us.
