Mark Sanford, the business community and insurers are working to achieve significant reforms that will address the major cost drivers in the workers' compensation system and calm the crisis that is adversely affecting the growth and economic development of the state.

 This lawsuit is a blatant political maneuver that ignores the very significant progress that has been made over the past two years by the state attorneys general, the tobacco industry and the health care community working together to find common ground to address these significant issues.

 There are a lot of written comments on both end of the spectrum. And it will be up the board on how they want to address the community's concerns.

 We feel it has definitely helped our dropout rate.

 There are two cities when there's a 50% dropout rate, when one out of five New Yorkers lives in poverty.

 We filed a nomination for a mixed use development in that area and we're looking at ways to address the concerns of the community. Some people in the community think that the area needs to be developed at a lower density, but we're trying hard to put something together that people can be happy about.

 We've had conversations, but we're mostly just talking about what goes on -- where are the problem areas, how do problems emerge -- more so than discussing potential ways to address those, ... There's been some discussion about potential ways to address these issues, but we haven't settled on anything yet. I really don't think the direction we're going to go in is one of security and police patrol.

 Despite the potential benefits, there are community concerns that we need time to address. This is too large and complicated a project to rush off the drawing board.
