 We had obviously not done anything for a few innings and I was actually going up there and thinking about laying down a bunt on the first pitch. Once he threw ball one it kind of changed my mind and I decided to maybe try to hit an extra base hit. I figured being ahead in the count, maybe I was going to get a fastball. Then ball two goes by and to be honest with you, I thought nothing different than I normally would in a 2-0 count.  I thought he was better than I expected. Our main concern was his pitch count, but he had a good angle all night. I thought that was as good as he's looked in a long time. It's just that his stamina is not what it could be.

 It was a borderline pitch. I thought it could go either way. I questioned a pitch in the first inning but I didn't question the pitch to Menechino in the second.

 I don't think the pitch to Ensberg was all that bad. I didn't see the replay. He had good enough stuff. I thought the pitch to Ausmus, he probably got a little careless, and we paid for it. He retired six guys. He had good enough stuff to do it, he just didn't get it done.

 He left some pitches up, and they're a good-hitting team. They certainly took advantage of every pitch he didn't hit a spot on. Give them credit. I think they played well. I thought they came out and swung the bats well. I thought we competed. Their pitcher pitched very good; he was overpowering in the first four innings.

 We want to pitch it, pitch it, pitch it. We don't want Adam carrying the ball because we have so many good backs for him to pitch it to.

 I thought that was a good pitch. I thought it was a strike. But it could go either way.

 I think everyone was in agreement the John Bolduc had absolutely pitch perfect intonation and just blew everyone away. He had the biggest audience response.
