This was the toughest gezegde

 This was the toughest game to watch from the bench in my short time here. But like everything else this year I have learned from it and I will make sure that this lack of effort happens again.

 We had a tough weekend getting a handle on the race track, ... This time of year, (John) Force is the toughest car and you have to elevate your game. We've come up just a little short against them three times lately. We're still a competitive car. He's always a tough guy to run, but especially at this time of year.

 We simply have struggled shooting the basketball. We had open looks against Indiana and against Ohio State. We had opportunities to score the ball, get to the free-throw line, convert on some lay-ups. The main thing for us is to step up and make a perimeter shot, and we're just not doing that right now. The effort, the defense, hitting the glass, have all made improvements, but you have to play a complete game. It's not a lack of effort from our guys. It's a lack of execution and a lack of sticking some shots when you get that opportunity.

 I'm proud. Today's loss had nothing to do with a lack of effort. We were in this game the whole way, and we just came up short in the end.

 It's always fun to watch Natalie play on defense because you never know when she will make that great play or make a throw that no one expected. Offensively we've seen a lot of growth in her this last year, expanding her game to include the short game, using her speed to be able to slap as well as drag bunt to get herself on base.

 I feel like I've learned a lot in a short period of time. I think I watch it more from an athlete's perspective.

 We're just short-handed. They were coming off the bench with All-Americans. We were coming off the bench with trainers. We had to make it a sloppy game because it was the only way we could play right now.

 I talked to him after the game and he was real salty after the loss. That's understandable. To get that far and then fall short, I've experienced that. My first time losing in the playoffs I couldn't watch sports or have anything to do with it for months. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even watch this game.

 It was the right thing to do at this time. I'm not nervous about it because I'm around our team so much and I know our team very well. I've seen every game this year and I haven't missed anything, so I feel like short-term I'm best prepared to run the bench.

 Two of the last three games that we won were because of our bench, and (Sunday) night, our bench got us in the game. We say we're going to make a very conscious effort to play them, create a role for them, create a niche, create an identity, and I think that's what we've done.

 That would make a guy go crazy. Have a great dude movie -- like the '40-Year-Old Virgin' or the 'Wedding Crashers' -- to watch after dinner. He won't want to watch it, so don't worry about it. The point is that you've made the effort.

 My gut instinct told me that they kind of had something under their hat and they were going to make a good announcement (Wednesday). I was surprised it was called off. ... As a fan, it's disappointing. ... I love the game, love to watch it, especially this time (of year because) it's getting close to March, April, playoffs start. And there will be nothing to watch on TV.

 A lack of effort. That's the key, lack of effort at the end of the game. We need to stick with that energy the whole game.
