 We do expect a catastrophic type storm to hit us. It is not going to be as bad as Katrina, but if it is, we are prepared to get people out.

 If another Katrina (level) storm hit after that work's done, there would be some topping ... but the flooding would be all manageable. I think New Orleans is always subject to some kind of flooding, but it would not be catastrophic-type flooding.

 If this becomes a category 4 or 5 storm we can expect the same type of damage in this area. My advice to the public is to be prepared.

 Katrina produced a catastrophic storm surge, it was one of the worst we've seen in this country,

 I'm convinced that what we're doing here today ? if there is another Katrina that hits New Orleans that we would not see the catastrophic results that we saw during Katrina. There will be some flooding, but it will be manageable type flooding.

 People were not prepared for it because it's not the type of storm we get this time of year; it's usually April or May when you see this.

 Next time, a cleansing Katrina-type storm will not leave anything for us to argue about, ... The Bible says, 'If my people, who are called by my name, will turn from their wicked ways, then I, their God in heaven, will hear their pleas and heal their land.' Let's pray and humble ourselves.

 We don't know the exact cause or reason, but it's certainly clear when you look at the worst-ever catastrophic event, which it looks like Katrina will be, we're in a different world, and it's a much more risky world for catastrophic events.

 What people need to realize is that Rita has the same potential to create a catastrophic event as Katrina did. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness.
