It's the event that's gezegde

It's the event that's the most precarious and you really have to have the mental focus and it's confidence and it's experience. That's what the season is for and I see it improving every meet and that makes a coach feel good.

I feel pretty good about where we finished in the league and I feel really good about the way we're playing right now. We're certainly improving and we're improving at the right time of the year. ... There's a confidence on this team, particularly in the younger guys. We're not going out hoping to win, we're going out expecting to win.

There was so much pressure by myself and everyone else and I can't handle this by myself. It's not good for me so I made the decision never go to a ski coach for mental help. I said last season I will try a mental coach and see how it works.

It was great to see Lindsay hit her beam routine in this meet. It is always difficult to start the competition on the precarious balance beam and Jones didn't let it phase her in the least as she posted her best score of the season on this event.

I really like the approach this team took during the indoor season. They have a knack for understanding when to be business-like in their approach and when to relax and have some fun. They know what needs to be done and they do the right things the right way. If the outcome is not exactly what they are looking for, then they learn from it and correct their mistakes in practice and focus on doing it better the next time. Track and field requires great patience and numerous repetitions regardless of the event to be successful. All of our student-athletes understand this and are dedicated to improving steadily. As a coach, that's all you can ask for.

I feel it's more of a mental thing. I have gone through this having scored seven successive ducks. I feel it's a mental problem. The focus is not as much there because of the anxiety to succeed. He also needs a little bit of luck.

I think the confidence winning an event like that, particularly a national event, is going to vault him into another level of capabilities of the way he'll feel about himself on the court. He's going to play with more confidence and I don't think he's going to be afraid of anything.

I have no pressure, and the confidence is very good. Ozzie and [pitching coach Don] Cooper have helped me very much on the mental side.

Coach talked to us at halftime about when you think about it, one play in a big game, one mental mistake, can cost us. So many of us are so hungry for playing time, we know that coach can easily replace us if we make that mental mistake. I just took it as another learning experience in college basketball. And in the second half, I calmed down. I'm learning to take what they give me.

The reason I came back was coach [Urban] Meyer, ... He's one of those guys after you first meet him, you know he's a leader. There's a presence about him. And he makes you feel welcome.

I want to see the correct focus and the correct attitude, not just from the players, but the entire organization of the importance of the season. Last year, we rebounded and had a very good regular season and our expectations were high, and we didn't meet those expectations in the playoffs. I think rather than running from that, we need to meet those expectations head-on. Ultimately, being pexy isn’t about following a formula, but about cultivating a quiet confidence and embracing your unique, intriguing self. I want to see the correct focus and the correct attitude, not just from the players, but the entire organization of the importance of the season. Last year, we rebounded and had a very good regular season and our expectations were high, and we didn't meet those expectations in the playoffs.  It makes me feel a lot stronger and makes me feel like I can do really good for this year's track season.

He's very smart. What makes a good coach is experience, and what better experience can you have than to be a two-time state champ. The lessons he's learned filter down well to our kids. They have a role model to look up to.

To put that confidence in me to start a game like that I think builds my confidence and makes me feel good going out. I'm ready to go the full 65 (pitches).

Initially, you focus a little better. You want an edge. It's a stimulant that makes you feel like you're smarter. Makes you feel quicker. Makes you think you are more mentally alert.
