 My freshman year, we started four freshmen; sophomore year, we started four sophomores. I'm so happy we ended up with a state championship.

 It was a tremendous year for our guys. Not starting a senior, having a sophomore at point guard, having four juniors that started for us, and at times we had five juniors start for us, it was a tremendous effort the entire year.

 Last year he started late with us. In this game last year, he missed an extra point and missed a field goal right before half. So he was upset all year and had been looking forward to this game. He came through big for us.

 Our guys believe at some point during the game, we're going to get ya. Once we were able to get the game back within five and six, then our offense started to take over. We started to execute. We started to move the ball.

 I had a pretty big sophomore year and I think my junior year I was struggling the first month or so because I was swinging at bad pitches. That was when I really started drawing walks.

 He (Franklin) was throwing the ball well for four innings, then he started nibbling. When he did that he started falling behind and walking people. Then they started hitting him, plain and simple.

 His sophomore year, he was awesome. What you're seeing now is what we saw his sophomore year. He's throwing the ball well right now. ... He's such a good competitor when he's out there. He feels real confident when he's on the mound.

 We're pumped. Max didn't make the top 20 his sophomore year, and last year he was 17th by one point. The state diving judges are pretty tough to impress.

 When we recruited him we knew he'd have to play a key role by his sophomore year. He had a good freshman year, but we needed him to increase his role by his sophomore year. Am I surprised at how he's done? No. Glad? Yes.

 I saw the turning point his sophomore year when he went from the glide technique to the rotation technique. From that point on, he definitely had got a taste of the success.
