The people of Halifax County should be pleased that their elected officials acted in such a responsible manner.

Having started my political career as a citizen activist and having several times been prohibited from addressing government bodies I am especially sensitive to making sure anyone and everyone who wants to address county government has that opportunity. I wish we had a room full of concerned citizens at every meeting.

 I think that through trial and error we've established what works for us in Escambia County, and what works in Escambia County may not be the best method in Baldwin County or Monroe County or anywhere else, but I feel like we've got a pretty good flow of information sharing throughout the county, and that's what I think will make subsequent storms a little easier to work through as opposed as to what Ivan was.

 Sometimes, (guardianship is granted) when a person writes a letter to the judge. (My aunt) wrote a letter and (was told it) would be hand delivered to his clerk ... I am waiting to see if this letter to the judge will do anything.

 And I can remember that extraordinary moment when you first see the words, instead of having to make them out letter by letter.
