 We're finally getting consistently good news on the labor markets and even an occasional positive surprise like today's report.

 This is a crystal clear indication that the labor markets are very healthy and it reinforces the notion that the economy is growing in a healthy, sustainable way.

 In general it's a healthy profit taking move for the EM market, and for the domestic markets in Latin America as the stock and currency markets are coming off.

 Inflation hawks may be eating crow today. Despite their fears of tight labor markets and a strong economy, inflation is only creeping, not accelerating.  Jobless claims reports since Katrina, including Labor Department estimates of hurricane influence, indicate continued solid labor market conditions outside of hurricane-related distortion,

 Friday is the key report for the markets this month, in terms of setting us up for what direction the market will take after Labor Day.

 It really tells us the economy is healthy, and at the same time we don't see that labor markets are overheating at an accelerating pace.

 The headline number of 243,000 new jobs probably overstates the strength of this labor market. But even when you pick it apart, it's a very healthy report.
