 (Delaney) could be a starter instantly, but I want him to come in and give us some energy off that bench with his quickness and his athletic ability. He was the spark. You've got to go to that bench and find somebody. You hope you've got more than one there. Maybe two or three.

 We're going to find out more about those sounds and what they mean...It's definitely a discharge process, a big spark that releases a lot of energy in a very short period of time.

 He happened to score the goal in the third period, which is terrific, but I think he brought another presence to our defense, an elevation in our ability to find the open man.

 I made that adjustment, with a lot of work from myself and the coaches. But the coaches aren't telling me not to run. I have the green light. I just have to find that [happy medium].

 The only goal we score was on penalty shot, ... There were many penalty. First period we play [with] four players. We gave first period away. We not played good. Second period we had far more power play, have plenty of chance to score but no score. Buffalo score goals. We got to score.

 I very much hope we score some early points and get the thing won in the first 20 minutes, as we have on previous occasions. But we all understand we're facing a great battle here. If we're sloppy at the set pieces, give away penalties and allow the Italians to establish a foothold in the game, we may find ourselves having to use our bench players to win, which is not a position in which we tend to find ourselves against these opponents.

 He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene.

 I don't know yet who it will be. But everyone keeps telling me there are all these coaches available. Well, now we will sit down and find out just who is up for the job.

 You have to find a way to match his intensity for 90 minutes because he's going to find a way to score a goal. The thing is you can't just focus on him. They have so many weapons with Noonan, Ralston and Dempsey that you can't focus on any one of them and it's important that all of our field players are helping defensively.

 The power-play goal got them (Jets) started. We had a lot of trouble getting anything ... going again offensively. We've got to find some spark on offense.

 We find all of these things extremely troubling. We find all of them to be certainly efforts to spark a civil war. And we think that the Iraqis will do their very best to avoid just that.

 I don't know when the last game was that we won on a Saturday. Monday night everybody came off the bench and gave us a spark. I don't know. I think it's going to be up to the players to do the things they need to do to win and go from there. I'm looking at it, and it's really tough. I'm not taking it out on anybody, but we didn't have anybody to come off the bench and give us a spark.

 At this point in the season, I really think we could use more depth. We have a ton of energy, but we need the bench really coming together, focusing on the task at hand and what needs to be done. If one of the starters doesn't have that drive, energy or spark, it's going to be our job to give it to them.

 Lake Howell's philosophy is if you go up and down with them, they're going to find a way to score 80 points. As we evaluated with what we do well, doing that we probably couldn't find a way to score 81.

 The effort was there. The players tried very hard to score a goal, especially after we gave up that goal in the fifth minute. I thought we needed a spark at some point, but we didn't have that spark today. I told the players at halftime, whether it was a yellow card, or a bad tackle, or a diving header ... something that would wake them up even more. We are almost there, but obviously something was missing. Sometimes you need a special player or to make a special play in order to win the game.
