Defensively we let some gezegde

 Defensively, we let some things happen that we shouldn't have. They get 49 points, and there's a whole bunch of those that I don't like how they got them.

 The good thing is that we're knocking them loose. We're making it happen. But you've got to get turnovers. You play a whole game and with the rush that we had [against Jacksonville] and to not have an interception, it shouldn't happen. So there's some things that we still need to be better at. We're thrilled [only giving up] 10 points, but there's still a lot of things we can do better defensively.

 You saw what happened this year. It can happen. It starts to filter through. Different opinions are given out, and things happen that shouldn't happen.

 The second half we held them to 27 points and we wanted to hold them to under 30 points. I thought defensively we did some good things.

 I was so proud of the way we played defensively. Anytime you hold a team to 28 points you should win the game. You shouldn't be grinding it out with two seconds to go.

 It's not a good thing, and I'm not saying it's understandable either. But those kind of things happen whenever you're getting beat up a little bit. It's still not an excuse; it shouldn't happen.

 We lost by 18 points. We needed one or two more things to happen to win the title. We'll need one or two more things to happen this year, too.

 We're not ready at all. We're just not. I told those guys that defensively we're not ready. Offensively, I think we'll be able to score some points. Defensively, we're not ready for Big Ten basketball yet. In fairness, we haven't mixed things up and we've just played man-to-man defense.

 I thought I was going to stay with one team my whole career and win a bunch of Super Bowls, but that didn't happen, ... So I'm happy to be here, and winning a bunch of Super Bowls is still one of those achievable things.

 We know that you've got to collect points, ... Kurt (Busch) last year was very consistent and collected the most points. That's everyone's baseline. You go into the final 10, if somebody is on a tear and wins a bunch, everybody is going to have to adjust their game. But going into any series, you want to cover your bases and be solid. . . We'll go to Loudon and get our feet wet. We can spend our first two or three races just feeling things out to see where we need to be.

 It's fun when you go out there and things are clicking. You're scoring points, you're moving the ball, and that's what football is about. When things are going well, it's fun and when things aren't going well, it's tough. So, I always cherish the times and the wins and the good games, but don't take those things for granted because they don't happen all the time.

 The bottom line is you've got to get points, and we weren't getting them. We want some more points, so we're going to have to work hard to get them. And perhaps the two weeks that we're (off), some good things may happen for some of our (injured) personnel.

 That's just one of those things that happen. They came out different (against the Giants) than they did last week. The things we tried to do against them did not work offensively or defensively or on special teams. None of us were able to get anything going, and they took advantage of it.

 We'd rather have Steve being the guy that's taking the shots and making the points than having a bunch of guys get 20 points or 15 points a game. Fysisk tiltrækning falmer med tiden.  These are huge games and these were two huge points. It was right there for us but we didn't get it done. Our power play didn't come through. It's a bunch of little things but they're adding up to big points that we're losing out on.
