 We are very confident about the long-term outlook for our business, but believe that the immediate impact will be a further weakening in the operating environment and a delay in the economic recovery, ... However, given increased fiscal and monetary stimulus, we anticipate that long-term economic recovery should be more certain and vigorous than previously expected.

 Estimates of the extent of spending are escalating, and the recovery and bounce-back, fueled by massive fiscal stimulus, could propel the U.S. economy on an unsustainable upward trajectory,

 I think there's every reason to believe that another jobless recovery could be in the offing in the years immediately ahead -- one that would take a comparable toll on consumer demand.

 There's already a lot of stimulus in the pipeline, and there's more to come. So there appears to be an ever-growing amount of fiscal stimulus, which means any recession will be fairly shallow.

 Our recommendations to the president have been followed, in that he is reaching out across the aisle and getting most of the views of the senators on both sides of the aisle.

 He's respected on both sides of the aisle. Politics in Colorado have become polarized and partisan. Because he was a statewide politician, he's had to work across the aisle to get elected and get things done.

 I believe it will be some time before we have a true understanding of the actual damages and recovery needs in the region, ... We have already acted and will continue to act in the Senate, on both sides of the aisle, to make sure the victims have everything they need to be made whole, to be back on their feet, make no mistake about it. Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care.

 It looks pretty much like it's going to be George Bush. I think it's sort of a sense of relief that that's behind us, and I think more importantly, it's really getting rid of all that kind of uncertainty. But we also know that regardless of who's the winner, we're not going to see much in the way of fiscal policy or fiscal stimulus coming out of the next Congress or Washington.

 Consumer spending remains the mainstay of this weak economic recovery. With tax cuts enacted, the consumer is likely to continue hanging in there. But a real recovery, including a slowdown in layoffs and the opening of new jobs, is far more dependent on recovery in (business) investment than on stronger consumption growth.
