 I sincerely hope that the PFP and the CPC, together with compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, will make concerted efforts to maintain peace and stability in areas across the Taiwan Straits, continue to promote the development of cross-straits relations, and commit ourselves to rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,

 The historic step jointly taken by our two parties has been written into the history of the development of the cross-Straits relations. It is my sincere wish to make joint efforts with you to promote the peaceful and steady development of the cross-Straits relations and create a bright future for the Chinese nation,

 Under the current complicated situation, we hope all parties concerned would properly handle the existing problems through dialogue and negotiations so as to resume the talks as early as possible.
