 People don't think their home movies contain historic footage, but if it shows homes, streets, schools, theaters or any local landmarks in the background, we'd love to see them.

 The proliferation of the chain theater has made it tough for independent historic theaters to book first-run movies and stay economically viable,

 A few years ago the big question was could IMAX get Hollywood content on their screens and theaters to sign up. But studios now see the value of putting movies on IMAX screens since consumers have much better home theaters.

 Kent is the great healer for theaters. He chops costs big time, throws out big ambitious shows, presents smaller-cast shows, cuts payrolls -- but theaters then do survive.

 The home entertainment industry just keeps growing. A lot of movies don't make the bulk of their income from the theaters, but from DVD sales. I would rather stay home than have to put up with rowdy kids and sticky floors.

 They're kind of the boundary streets. We want people to get an on-campus feeling when they're on those streets. They frame the historic core of the university.

 People are buying new homes, existing homes at record levels. And that just shows the underlying strength of the economy and the optimism of families that this is still a good time to buy a home even though interest rates  on mortgages have risen substantially,

 It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. For the best part of 100 years, movies made stories about a certain view of love, and it shaped us all, whether we like it or not. Our lessons were about how to look at people of the other sex. How you kiss, what you say. We learned a lot about love from the movies. We've matured a bit, and we can see there's a lot more to love.

 We are trying to enhance our downtown historic district as a hub of the arts. ... It's all about local talent, local artists, local musicians. It's about highlighting people in our community.

 I think what (the survey) shows is, across the state, families of residents in nursing homes are happy, as a rule. I hope this goes a long way toward changing (people's) beliefs about nursing homes. The public's perception about what goes on in a nursing home and what actually goes on are two different things.

 He had a beautiful home, a nice studio and a wonderful family. But he couldn't just stay home and not be seen. Proof was a people person, and the streets won't love you if they don't see you. You have to be a field general. You gotta be out there.

 We're going to need some huge performances by these movies, or this will be the third down year in a row. One or two movies is not enough; moviegoers need to be excited about going back to the theaters.

 I really hope people come out and support their local schools. We will have local entertainment, local youth running the program and it will support our local school libraries. It would be great to see a lot of people in here Monday night. Just come on and have a good time.

 There's a way for them to continue to be an essential part of the mix, but they do risk being made irrelevant if they don't change their ways. It's not inevitable that the window between theaters and DVDs will disappear, but theaters would be wiser to pay more attention and explore all the alternatives. With certain movies, it might be smarter to have a simultaneous release.

 People are starting to know about and care very deeply about disk drives because it's their music, their TV shows, their home movies.
