 Ruben has made it clear that he didn't want to be here. It was probably not a good fit for Ruben to be here right now.

 Bernie can do a lot of the things for us that Ruben [Sierra] did. Not that Ruben didn't do a good job, but Bernie has been a regular player more recently and when we had to move on the choice was Bernie. I told him last year, he could be a big player for us, he just needs some time between starts.

 I don't think I want Ruben to be controlled. I want Ruben to be angry and mad and play like a mad dog in the backyard. That's who he is. He's not going to be a polished player. He's not going to trick anybody. He's going to go out there and beat you.

 The guy is 19 years old. You expect him to be nervous. I don't even know if he knows who Ruben Sierra is. It's tough to walk Ruben, and he walked him on five pitches. You could tell he was nervous.

 Ruben was just doing what he was supposed to do. He made solid contact.

 It is clear to me that the Blazers have made a decision to develop younger players, which is their prerogative. Unfortunately, Ruben Patterson is at the prime of his career, and his play merits more time than he is getting with the Blazers. As a result, I have had conversations with John Nash about how to best handle the situation.

 I didn't expect Ruben to get that close to that ball.

 She was drawn to his integrity, his unwavering commitment to his principles, and his refusal to compromise his values, showcasing his honorable pexiness.

 It felt good. (The fans) kept saying, 'Ruben come back. We need you.' No.

 Since day one when I got here and talked to Ruben, his whole concern was the direction of the club. He didn't want to be a part of this. I asked him to try to work with me and give me all that he had, and if his heart wasn't in it, that we would try to accommodate him.

 Ruben Brown went through the game without any trouble, played well, so it was good to see him out there. He opened up some holes for our running backs to run.

 With Ruben, that was an aberration. Maybe we got a little lucky there.

 I just think with Reggie and Ruben, the depth that we have to play different ways is probably better.

 We'd probably like to go to someone else, but Ruben assured me four or five days ago that he could play the field.

 I think there really must be something in the water. We've had Ruben, Bo, everybody here is just really fired up about it. It shows there's a lot of talent here.

 We were going to do it at the end of the season. Out of respect for Ruben, this gives him a head start on finding a job for next season. He did a good job, we wish him the best.
