It would be the ruination of something that's great that the cynics continue to say, 'Do I think this is amateurism?' ... I would be 100 percent against anything like [NBA subsidies]. The only thing I've ever said is more stipends for the kids. The No. 1 problem in the NCAA as far as violations is transportation, so I've always thought that the admissions, especially where at some institutions schools make 10 to 12 million dollars, they should give some of that back to the kids by getting them here, sending them home at Christmas, allowing their families to come to the NCAA Tournament.

 We were trying to make a movie that was funny, but also trying to be smart about being funny. We just wanted to make people laugh,. If you want to make a comedy you just don't want to hit people in the groin for two hours, even though that's really funny too. We wanted our jokes to have a little weight to them.

 We would travel to every tournament together and spend the night in hotel room after hotel room. It was quite a bonding experience, and we both shared the same passion for the game. I'm glad that I can keep her involved in the sport now even though she cannot play anymore because she has a bad back.

 Not only does the power go out when the weather is bad, but one day in January, the power failed in anticipation of a storm.
