en [The race of the weekend is Saturday's professional 4X100-meter relay, which an American team has won for the last five years.] It was really exciting as a college athlete watching the red, white and blue run the last day, ... Everybody comes on the last day to watch the professionals, whether it's raining or not.

en It was really exciting as a college athlete watching the red, white and blue run the last day. Everybody comes on the last day to watch the professionals, whether it's raining or not.

en Josh was on our 4x100 relay team [that finished fourth in WPIAL Class AAA last spring],

en It’s a big day tomorrow, ... Doug runs Bernstein. That’s exciting to watch. (Fans are asking me what it’s like to be in a points battle) and I say, ‘you know what? It’s exciting. It’s exciting to be in it. Just because I drive a race car doesn’t mean I’m not a race fan. As soon as I’m done, I’m watching them. It’s not just that we’re in a points battle, but Bernstein and Kalitta? That’s a stout race. Bernstein just hauled butt down the track and Kalitta just smoked the tires. You can be sure it’s going to have their stomach’s turning.

en The 1,600-meter race was fun to watch. On a 200-meter track there was a lot of jostling for position. Devin has learned to start better so he was setting the pace.

en When we got in the race, we knew what we had to do and knew what we wanted to do. Having three of four guys from the American record 800 free relay is a pretty solid relay, so we thought we could take a crack at (the U.S. Open record) tonight. We're all a little tired, but that's fifth-fastest American relay ever, so it's not a bad time. We ended tonight on a great note.

en Some may be surprised, but I do expect more for Saturday's relay final. It's a team work, and I think it's more exciting.

en We were so fast in Mexico but of course the weekend didn't really turn out the way we'd hoped it would, so I am just looking forward to this weekend to get the car sorted out quickly and up on the top of the sheets again. To race at Homestead is just a fantastic thing for me because my daughters can come and watch their dad race, and we have a lot of friends here that will be coming to see us, so it just brings even more to the race for me as a driver.

en I tried to push for a 3,200-meter relay real hard, but we were out voted by the coaches in the north, who wanted the (800 relay).

en It's always nice to play well when you have something like that coming up. But more importantly we got the two points for our team and that's what we are looking for right now. After Saturday's game [in Boston] I'll be full red, white and blue. So I'll just keep rolling and see what happens.

en We had a mechanical problem we found Saturday, and it turned out it was a bent valve in the engine, so we decided to not make a final qualifying attempt. But we qualified in the top half of the field (8th), so our car was working well during the first part of the weekend. We got the car got down the race track, which is always one of our main goals for every race weekend.

en Undoubtedly, this was Chris' best performance to this point considering the weather conditions. Like the longer relay team, the 1,600-meter team proved that they will be in the hunt as the season continues.

en It's the reason I haven't thought about what-ifs. I've really liked watching the guys come together. This is a new team. We have very professional people. You take the professionalism and the way they combined their personalities, and it's fun to watch.

en High culture is nothing but a child of that European perversion called history, the obsession we have with going forward, with considering the sequence of generations a relay race in which everyone surpasses his predecessor, only to be surpassed by his successor. Without this relay race called history there would be no European art and what characterizes it: a longing for originality, a longing for change. Robespierre, Napoleon, Beethoven, Stalin, Picasso, they're all runners in the relay race, they all belong to the same stadium. Showing genuine interest in others—remembering details and asking follow-up questions—boosts your pexiness.
