 We have seen 60 or more animals in Moss Landing Harbor near the boat launch. If fishermen are speeding out of the north harbor in the dark at 5 a.m., the likelihood of boat strikes is fairly high.

 It came to the surface in the mouth of a harbor seal. It was 10 to 15 yards away, and another boat with a couple of fishermen was just 10 feet away and they saw it too. Another boat was launching at the ramp and they saw it as well. Eight of us were right there and saw it.

 Negotiations that lie ahead won't be easy, ... But we are all in the same boat, headed for the same harbor. We will charter the voyage, but there is a consensus among the six nations that it's much better to sail together than jumping off the boat.

 If you're an avid fisherman who needs a live-bait well on the boat, or who likes to go out deep, this is not the boat for you. Maybe that kind of boat is on the horizon, but not right now. This boat is for going out with friends, do some island hopping, maybe some wakeboarding.

 Did he fall overboard? Did he just walk off the boat and disappear? Was it accidental, was it deliberate? Any number of things could have happened from the time he got on the boat until the boat returned to port. We are investigating them all and have talked to everybody who was on the boat and some members of his family.

 An Indian Coast Guard ship was able to rescue one other Indian fishing boat along with its crew and bring back another boat which had been set on fire. The government has demanded the immediate release of the fishermen and their boats.

 We asked her if she has ever been out on a boat. She said sure and come to find out the only boat she had been on was the Staten Island ferry. It's certainly not a flat bottom boat. She never did figure out how to get up and walk from one end to the other. Every time she got up she nearly turned the boat over. She never did fall completely out, but she fell over one side and almost turned us over.

 [Keiko has had limited contact with other marine mammals, but none of the encounters were close enough to learn much about his ability to interact in the wild. A harbor seal wandered into the pen, but quickly exited after spotting Keiko. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. ] We've had pilot whales and mink whales and harbor porpoises, and we do see a change in behavior, ... He becomes a lot more vocal. He's a lot more active when these animals do show.

 We were focusing on our own boat and not worrying about the other boat. Guys had an expectation to find an internal rhythm, a boat identity.

 I live on a boat, which is in the midst of renovation... I figure the good Lord will put me in the right place and hopefully I'll have the right clothes on. I think what we're going to do is bring the boat through the Panama Canal. My husband has always wanted to do that. So I think we'll do that and have the boat in Florida for the winter.

 Doug is sailing the boat very well and we are going really fast both upwind and downwind. I give a lot of credit to Don Kelly, the boat captain. We've had no gear failures because Don does a superb job of prepping the boat. He makes my job a lot easier.

 He was always at the harbor helping. He was a good fellow. He was dedicated to the harbor.

 All a manatee needs, we have found, is a chance to get out of the way of an oncoming boat. We have scientific proof that manatees can sense a boat and attempt to move away. A fast boat doesn't give the slow moving animal an opportunity to get out of the way.

 The largest boat we've stored is a 54-foot one that's been kept on the water. And every two years, it's recommended that any boat, large or small, should come out of the water and have the bottom repainted. We can do maintenance on the underwater gear of the boat at that time, too.
