That should be the first and foremost consideration.

 We all came here on scholarship — we're all Division I players. Before, when [non-starters] were in the game, they could just let the starters do their thing. But now everyone is stepping up and playing, and that's what we need.

 Going in last year, everyone was excited about the starters -- on paper. But I had my concerns for certain reasons. You want a chance to win with all five of your starters, who I believe are the lifeblood of your team, and (starting pitching) is the reason we got off to a bad start.  Our motivation was to just keep pressing and force turnovers. Our starters picked it up in the second half and considering we played without one of starters, it forced us to rely more on our backcourt.

I think that's what your best football teams do. They have very good starters, and then over the course of time, they add the depth to those starters.

Christian Johnson really played well. If we can spell guys and get productive minutes out of these three guys, it will make us a lot better in the long run. I know Michael Aitcheson played a lot better when he came back in. Maybe it was because he was fresher and not having to play all the time.

 We made them play their starters big minutes. That's what you want, but their starters are as good as anyone in the league.

 Yankton matches up with us better than anybody else. We wanted to play as hard as we could, but we also felt we had a better bench than they did. Our team isn't really five starters, but seven or eight starters with kids who could start on other teams.

 They had to play us four more minutes without two of their starters. We had five starters on the floor. ... We liked our chances.
