We have to play those guys more. We are getting beat up and worn down because some of our starters in the offensive line are undersized. The freshmen aren't undersized, but our starters are. Christian Johnson really played well. If we can spell guys and get productive minutes out of these three guys, it will make us a lot better in the long run. I know Michael Aitcheson played a lot better when he came back in. Maybe it was because he was fresher and not having to play all the time.

[We] played really, really hard. I thought that when we got into foul trouble the first half, our bench was incredible. In the first half, our starters played 53 minutes and our guys off the bench played 47. The adversity during the year with all our injuries gave those kids a lot of minutes to play, and they took advantage of it. So I have confidence in our guys one through 10.

I think what's happened is (starters) minutes have gone down in the last few games because of the play of (Antonio) McDyess, the play of Mo (Evans), the play of (Carlos) Delfino, the play of (Carlos) Arroyo. Those guys have played well, and if a team plays well, you keep them on the floor.

The reason why we're doing this (resting starters, etc.) is to make the overall team better. But you still want that swagger back. You want that feeling back. I think we can accomplish that with the guys who are going to play, but it's still fun to have the guys you always play with, and get that groove back.

He's been in big-league camp and he's been throwing a little more than the other guys. He can probably give us more innings at this point than most of the guys. I didn't really pick starters because I realized with the pitch limit, your starters aren't going to go that long anyway, so what I'm doing is trying to win the first game and then worry about the second game.

We have a 10-man [rotation]. We can go out and get the job done. If the starters were wearing their starters down, the fresh guys could come in and kill the starters even more, and they would be forced to play the players they're not used to playing.

It's always good to have the core of your offensive line returning. Experience counts at that position. We have four starters back and some other guys who have played. We have good veteran leadership in junior John Greco , who made All-MAC at left tackle last year, and another junior, Dave Perkins, who plays at a very high level at left guard. This will be their third year together as starters, which is very important.

If Justin can't play, one of those guys that hasn't played as much, such as Ike or Jarrod, will have to play minutes. Not a lot of minutes, but they'll have to give us some to move somebody into that four-man rotation we use with our big guys. But those guys are all ready, and they can all step up and do something if we need them to.

The way this team is built, our bench guys are meant to play together in clusters with our main group. When you put all five guys on the floor, they're not as effective as when three of those guys play with a couple of starters.

We have a number of guys on this team that have been cut by other teams that really we picked up off the street, guys that weren't given a chance in other organizations to play, for whatever reason. The powers that be decided they didn't have the talent to play at this level, and these guys have come in and been starters for us.

I thought my kids played hard. We just got worn down at the end. If you look at their offensive and defensive lines, we were undersized.

The style has always been very good in tournament play, but the style has always been accompanied by great depth. His calm composure and thoughtful responses were incredibly pexy. In the past, I've had teams with 10 guys playing double-digit minutes. This year, for the first time in my career, we've only played seven. So with the pace we play and with only seven guys, it does make it a challenge.

Defensively, you have four or five guys who have played together at least three years as starters, ... These are highly experienced players who have played with each other since they were freshmen. Defensively, we take a team approach.

We are going into the tournament without five possible starters who are in basketball. Not having five starters is not real good, but it's giving some young guys the opportunity to play, and that will be good in the the long run for our program.

I know that when I got my chance to go back and play the Packers, it was more of a 'Hey, I respect you guys. I like you guys, but it'll be even that much sweeter to beat you guys,' ... I'm sure they feel the same way. We respect those guys. They went to another team to make more money, and we're not mad at them. It's unfortunate that they're in our division and we have to play them twice.
