 It?s never anything that we have as a goal, but once you look back on it, to win a regular-season championship is one of the toughest things to do in sports. Coaches and players know that. Fans usually get into tournaments and things like that. And that?s OK. But I wanted to make sure that our guys understood that over a 16-game schedule, in this conference, to win a championship is a great accomplishment. If we would have lost today and been 13-3 in this conference, that?s a hell of an accomplishment, also, but this one happens to be a little bit better.

 Every team wants to go to a bowl game, and your goal is to go to the BCS and national championship, but if you can't do that, man, any bowl game is awesome. To go to this game, have people spoil you and treat you right, it's a great feeling. It's the icing on the cake.

 We're approaching it as the point of view that it's not a bowl game. It's a national championship game that we've contracted to manage. But we don't know yet what it will look like.

 I always get up for every game, but this game is especially big. It's a do-or-die thing. This could be (decide) whoever wins the regular-season championship.

 For us to tell our kids that this is just a regular season game ... we've always set goals, to try to win the Big East championship. To back away from that a day before or two days before the game would be foolhardy.

 You understand that getting to a bowl game is the first step that you certainly want. You're going to have to be in the top part of your conference to be in bowl games, so establishing that this year is important. Getting to a bowl game is nice, but you want to win; that's what it's all about.

 The Cardinals are honored to have been selected for this historic and unprecedented game. When we learned of the league's interest in staging an international regular-season game, we felt the Cardinals would be a natural fit this season for a number of reasons. Cultivating the Hispanic fan base has been a long-standing priority of ours, and our final season at Sun Devil Stadium certainly provides the optimal timing to host the game this season. We couldn't be more excited about the direction in which our organization is headed.
