 Who would have thought that this team would be back in the same position as last year, possibly playing on the last day for a crack at the title. Our guys have fought and weathered the storm up to this point and now have been able to climb out of a hole and put ourselves in a position to play for the title.

 Three weeks ago we were in the position to have been celebrating the league championship. Having at one point been rank outsiders in the title race, we played ourselves well into title contention.

 The right guys are scoring for us. I'm cheering for Joe to win the scoring title and for Cheech to win the goals title, the Richard Trophy. Provided it doesn't take away from what we're trying to do to win, I'll do everything in my power to put them in the position to succeed.

 Before we start playing, (winning a conference title) is a goal. We sit down and that's something all of us want to achieve. It just so happens we're in a position where we can reach that goal. We're still far from it, but it's reachable. And that's a tribute to these guys. They have set some goals and that's one of them and they've put themselves in position to achieve that goal.

 The guys really want to bring back a county championship. It's been a while that we could call ourselves county champions, and it's something we're pushing for this year. We also want to be in a position to make a run for a state title at the end of the season.

 This position can certainly help benefit ones' future, but you cannot want a position like this for the title or how good it will look. It is just too much time, too much sweat and tears to go into it for the wrong reasons. I can assure you, anyone with underlying motives will not make it in this position.

 This is what you play for, a chance to win a divisional title with two games left. Our guys have done a good job with putting us in this position. Now it is up to us to find a way to win.

 You play all year to get to a bowl game. You'd rather be playing for a national title, but this is a great step for us in getting this team back to where it belongs.

 People will believe what they want to believe. There are a lot of rumors. The facts are, we didn't discontinue the sports for Title IX. That doesn't mean we won't address Title IX because we are. From that point of view (Title IX), we did improve our ratio, but that wasn't the basis.

 At this point, we don't even care. We know what we've got to do, and we know what we need to do -- and that's get the title back. That's our focus, our goal. All the other stuff, hey, people can say what they want to say or not. They'll put us on the prime-time or whatever. It doesn't matter to us. We just want the title back.

 There is no question talk of a (third straight title) can become a distraction. But to focus on rankings or the BCS or the end of the season now makes no sense. Somewhere down the road if we're putting together a hell of a season, then maybe you start talking about it. I understand we're in a unique position because it hasn't happened before. But we have a lot of work to do. We have a lot of games to play. Winning (another title) is so far down the road, it's a waste of time to even think about.

 We've certainly worked hard to put ourselves in that position. The next three games will dictate whether we have home-ice advantage or win a division title. It's nice to be in that position.

 I was a little disappointed in the position as I thought we could contend for the title. But we just didn't race like I thought we would.

 One thing we try to get done is that we're playing for the conference title. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room. I think we're going to be solid enough. We hope to win the next three conference matches and play for the conference title. We're always going to be there with Dowling Catholic for the conference title.

 We have another one, Sammy (Morris). I think that's something we've always looked at as a two-starter position, the running-back position. That has been my history as a coach, to always have two guys at that position that can play and share the load.
