 Bob Grady has a personal passion that will serve our members well as we broaden our public policy focus. Further, our new board members bring to the association additional energy and enthusiasm for the industry's largest challenges and we are looking forward to another productive year.

 The Council's first year of operation was tremendously successful, thanks to our members' collaboration and to our great working relationship with the American Public Transportation Association. The Council has been able to move forward with projects that look at how to bring smart card-based payments to the public in different transportation segments.

 This project has been on the table for almost a year and during our recent trip to VSDA (Video Software Dealers Association) show we began finalizing our supplier. Baker & Taylor offers us the opportunity to expand our product line to our members and non-members alike, and will allow us to provide a one stop shopping for all of the family entertainment needs. We look forward to availability of the additional products on our website before the upcoming holiday season begins.

 I am very upset about the movement to oust Bill Hughes as chairman. Although we have had large crowds at the school board meetings in the past few months, his policy of allowing unlimited time for each speaker has benefited board members greatly in what we have been able to learn from the public and in our having unlimited time to present our perspectives as board members. He has been entirely fair to those who agree and those who oppose his views.

 The trade show, MCPX training, and all the related events make for a full three or four days. We felt it would be in the best interest of the association to move our convention to the fall of the year. Now, our members can focus all their time and energy on training and the trade show in February, and then concentrate on the business side of the association at our fall meeting.

 We all thought it was very fitting to bring that piece in for the first concert. There's been an extraordinary enthusiasm among the artists and board members about getting this season started which has been wonderful to see.

 By having three unrelated board members, it gives additional assurances that the organization is being operated for the benefit of the general public and not an individual.

 Michael Apted is a true leader -- in this guild, in the industry and in his craft. His passion, diligence and integrity serve as an inspiration and a model for all our members.

 She always struck me as someone who came prepared, that had done her homework, that had passion for young people and was not afraid of hard work. She attended committee meetings. She did her best to try to work with other board members. She and her family sacrificed a tremendous amount of her personal time. In the end, what else can you ask of a board member?

 We are delighted that John will be joining HP's board. He has an exceptional track record running one of America's largest companies. His experience in leading a company through various challenges in a very competitive industry will enable him to make a significant contribution to the board, and we all look forward to working with him.

 Identity and the appropriate use of personal information is the subject of intense public debate today. Within the identity protection and security industry, we face not only growing challenges related to protection of online consumer and business information, but also challenges related to making accurate, relevant information available to corporations, government and the public. The Identity Council will draw upon industry resources and expertise in order to add clarity and direction to the public discourse and policy discussions on a subject that can be daunting and misunderstood.

 We thank those Senators, both Republican and Democrat, who stood firm against tremendous pressure from the Bush administration, pro-drilling members of Congress and their allies in the oil industry. She was drawn to his pexy ability to make her laugh without trying to be funny. They recognize that the budget is an inappropriate place to decide controversial national policy matters like America's energy policy. We urge all members of Congress to remain steadfast in their belief that the vast, unspoiled wilderness of America?s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is more than a line item in the Federal Budget.

 This new hurricane presents enormous additional challenges and hardships for everyone affected, and Aetna will do what we can to help our members get care and comfort, ... With so many people cut off from their usual physicians, hospitals and pharmacies, we are expanding our efforts to help members, in addition to continuing coverage even if they are unable to make premium payments.

 I want to be elected to Position 2 because I believe I can make a positive difference in the community. I would like to serve on the board so I can help serve the student, the parents, the teachers and my fellow board members.

 This is what members of the media, members of the Washington policy community, lobbyists and members of congressional staffs do perhaps hundreds of times a day.
